To make full use of the natural light which will flow in through the large windows which encase the clinic space, the internal walls have had sections removed from them. These “windows” have panels of glass fitted in them; clear glass for non-private areas and textured glass for private areas.

Timber cladding

The reception desk is built around a basic timber frame, then clad with three wider pieces of timber which have had sections removed.

These sections mirror the design of the walls in the clinic and add detail to an otherwise simple desk.

The simple cut-out walls on the upper floor add interest to an otherwise uncomplicated design without being too distracting.

The upstairs gym is used as a diagnostic and fitness evaluation space. The room houses a selection of equipment which will be used by staff to assess their patients.

Detail of wall

The walls throughout the clinic all feature this “cut out” design. Each slice which has been cut from the wall is a different size and shape, and at a different angle. Panels on walls which house private areas have been fitted with textured glass, and for non-private areas clear, grey tinted glass has been used.

Towards the rear of the clinic is a set of simple stairs leading to the first floor treatment rooms and gym. For those who are unable to manage the stairs, there is a lift situated beside the reception space.

With the main colour pallette being a series of white and grey tones, the red poured resin floor gives the space a much needed boost of colour and also provides a hard-wearing and easy to care for surface.

View of staff space

The ground floor of this unusual space has a bright and open feel to it, whereas the first floor is a more private space, but still remains consistent with both the colour pallette and overall feel of the ground floor.
