Sorbcontrol, S.L. arises from the vast experience gained over the years in response to the problems of marine and industrial pollution caused by oil spills and chemical products. We also respond to the needs relating to pollution control in industrial and port facilities. GRINTEC® Containment Booms come in a wide range of models, amongst them we highlight:

Cylindrical (Type BC) with or without Anti-turbidity curtains. Also available in fast deployment system. For usage in

open waters, bays and also in protected waters and ports.

Flat (Type P). Developed for rapid deployment and collection. Its ideal application is for protected waters without waves.

Inflatable (Type BH) and Self-inflatable (Type BAH). We offer a wide range of sizes for use in open waters but

also in calm and protected waters aswell.

Permanent (Type BR). Made of an extremely strong polyester fabric and covered in a UV treated PVC that is highly

resistant to chemicals and mechanics and which has more resistance to the effects of prolonged exposure to the sun.

Self-Inflatable. Designed for fast deployment without auxiliary devices to have ready to use. No training is needed for

operate this fast and and strong oil boom.

All our models can be made in Strong (1450g/m²) or Panel (800g/m²) fabrics. Poliester PVC or PU coated.


GRINTEC® C containment booms are designed for use in shel-

tered waters, ports, open water and bays. They are made of PVC

coated polyester and their buoyancy chambers contain closed-cell

foam. Their cylindrical floats provided them with exceptional buo-

yancy and excellent wave following characteristics.

Additionally, we could offer our cylindrical boom with silt curtain

when needed. Silt curtains are required to control silt and turbidity

while working in or around water.

GRINTEC® P containment booms are designed for fast deployment

and collection.

It are made of oil resistant PVC-coated Polyester and their buoyancy

chambers contain closed-cell foam panels.

Thanks of their flat chambers, they are particularly suited to being

stowed on reels.

They are ideal for sheltered waters with no waves.

Inflatable booms are fast and easy to deploy.

They are designed to provide a rapid response to assist in the contain-

ment and clean-up of oil spills.

Available in a wide range of sizes for use in calm, sheltered and open

waters.

Buoyancy is provided by their 6m watertight sections. Each section also

has a non-porous internal PVC chamber that ensures water tightness,

and both are sealed and high frequency welded into a single joint.

GRINTEC® RAPID containment boom is designed for use in shelte-

red waters and ports as well as in bays and open water. It is made in PVC-

coated polyester fabric and its floating chamber contains several self-in-

flating mechanical systems inside, entirely free of metallic components.

GRINTEC® RAPID is lightweight and easy to hand-

le with an exceptional balance between size and buoyan-

cy. It also has a conventional inflatable boom rate of compact-

ness, which is a perfect solution to stow high quantities of oil

containment boom in a single standard reel. Moreover, the absen-

ce of valves facilitates an easy and quick deployment and stowage.

The GRINTEC® Permanent containment booms are developed for

being installed for long periods. Are made of PVC-coated Polyester

high chemical resistance fabric, mechanical and UV treated for greater

resistance to the effects of prolonged sun exposure. Its floats are made

of rigid high density polypropylene (HDPP). Inside the floats, foam PE

panels are placed to ensure the buoyancy even when the float breaks

accidentally. The flat section and the absence of folds in the fabric makes

this boom particularly suitable to stay long periods of time in the water.

GRINTEC® Skimmer are compact models, designed for recovering all types of hydrocarbon.

Within our range of Skimmer, we can differentiate between Selective Skimmers and Overflow Skimmers.

All our equipments are designed in robust and resistant materials to both seawater and hydrocarbons.

The Selective Skimmer GRINTEC® are ideal for recovering fuel

from light hydrocarbons to high viscosity by minimizing the amount

of water collected (5% approx.). The hydrocarbons or oil adhere to

the hydrophobic surface of the disks, after which the oil is separated

and transported through hoses connected to a hydraulic pump and

then on to storage tank. Ideal for use on the sea, rivers, lakes, etc.

Selective Skimmers


The Overflow Skimmer GRINTEC® uses the simplest of princi-

ples: it adjusts the position of the floating ring with respect to the

level of the oil, increasing or decreasing the flow of the suction

pump.

Our overflow skimmers can include an external suction pump.

Overflow skimmers pick up more water than the majority of other

types of skimmers, especially in the open sea, but in the long term

their simplicity of design and operation, and therefore their me-

chanical reliability, mean they recover a lot more oil than other

skimmers.

Safety storage


GRINTEC® Self-supporting tanks are an excellent solution for

temporary storage of hydrocarbons in oil spill recovery opera-

tions. They are lightweight, take up little space when folded and

their assembly does not require auxiliary items such as frames and

tools. They can be located on uneven terrain, places to which ac-

cess is difficult and boat decks as an example of their versatility.

GRINTEC® temporary storage tanks can be used under the

worst weather conditions and have a range of uses including spill

clean-up, oil separator, potentially polluting effluents, firefighting,

etc. GRINTEC® tanks are made of PVC-coated Polyester fabric

and with a stainless steel frame are light and take up little spa-

ce when empty and stowed. The frame can be easily assembled

without tools in no time.

GRINTEC® Hydraulic power packs are compact equip-

ments designed to withstand the toughest conditions. They

are ideal for operating oil spill pollution equipments and

devices such as reels, skimmers, pumps, generators, etc.

Designed to be robust and compact, our power packs

come with wheels, meaning it can be transported easily

by one person.

The GRINTEC® CRT Reels are the ideal solution for

the stowage of oil containment booms. It enable a fast

and safe boom deployment and collection. They are

hydraulically operated, which means that an operator

with little training can perform the operation easily.

All the equipment is manufactured in steel that has

been hot galvanized in a zinc bath at 400º and pain-

ted to marine corrosion resistance specifications.

GRINTEC® ISO containers of 10’ and 20’ units are a robust

and resistant to marine environments storage. Offer great ad-

vantages in terms of stowage of equipment, ensuring a secure

storage and a compact package for transport by road and sea.

Sorbcontrol also supplies containers with quick deployment

and others, built according to customer requirements.

GRINTEC® storage cages are the ideal solution for stowing

equipment of any kind, from booms to pumps, skimmers and

auxiliary elements. These cages, enable an efficient organi-

zation for the anti-pollution equipment. This makes them very

versatile and practices against unexpected performance,

allowing you to select and move the equipment quickly and

safely, because its galvanized steel frame protects the equip-

ment from bumps. These include tunnels truck for effective ma-

nagement.

Oil Only Absorbents


Pads

Absorbent pads are designed to pick up spills on contact, stop li-

quids from running, and prevent tracking in the workplace. This for-

mat helps to have more control over consumption.

Rolls

Rolls, indicated to cover surfaces as needed. This format gives the

possibility of cutting at will the necessary amount of absorbent in

every situation. They come in different roll widths.

OIL ONLY absorbents, are designed to absorb oil spills and other petroleum based liquids while repelling water. Oil absorbents are ideal for use in bunds, on lakes, harbours, rivers and the sea where oil needs to be absorbed without picking up

water.

Pillows

Absorbent socks are the best solution where liquids need to be con-

tained and absorbed. The combination of a flexible knitted outer

with a 100% polypropylene fill ensures rapid absorption and superb

retention.

Absorbent pillows are highly absorbent, and therefore a good solu-

tion to persistent leaks.

GRINTEC® absorbent booms are very useful to contain and co-

llect oil and fuel located on the surface of the water, as in harbors,

lakes, rivers, etc.

Absorbents sweeps

Absorbent sweeps are long curtains of absorbent which are designed

to remove the final oil sheen of a spill. Our sweeps come with a stitched

band for easy handling and extra strength. They can even be towed

behind a boat.

Particulate

Bilge boom

Oil only particulate, made of loose polypropylene pulp, absorbs oil

leaks and spills while actually repelling water. This format is especially

useful for spreading over irregular surfaces, for fast cleanup of oil leaks

and spills and also to clean those hard-to-reach areas such as cracks

and corners. Also for absorbing contained oil spills on water, because it

floats even when saturated.

GRINTEC® bilge booms have the ability to absorb oils and fuels,

located on the surface of water accumulated in the bilge of the ship

without absorbing water.

Organic absorbent

This is an efficient absorbent for hydrocarbon and oils that have a vege-

table base and made from surplus forest produce. The natural qualities

of some plant species with the right treatment make this granule a highly

productive and safe absorbent.
