GENERALStandard Operation and Monitoring Function has various functions required to monitor plant operation. A variety of special views can be used according to a purpose of operation and monitoring. For alarm management, Unified Alarms and Conditions Server (UACS) (*1) or Consolidated Alarm Management Function (CAMS for HIS) can be selected in addition to a basic alarm management. For basic alarm management, whether to detect alarms is specified and alarm inhibition is performed for each function block of FCS, GSGW, and APCS. By selecting the Unified Alarms and Conditions Server (UACS) (*1) or the CAMS for HIS it is possible to manage alarms in further advanced approach such as unifying alarm formats, and displaying alarms for easy recognition.

Supervise Alarm and Event MessagesByusingtheCAMSforHIS,operatorscanintegrateprocessalarms,systemalarmsandoperationguidemessages,whichusedtobesupervisedondifferentwindows,ononewindow(CAMSforHISMessageMonitor).Inordertoenableoperatorstomonitoronlynecessaryinformationforthemselvesinthemostsuitabletimingoutofagreatvarietyofalarmsandeventsgivenoutfromplants,theCAMSforHISMessageMonitorhasthefollowingfunctions:• Filtering Afunctiontofilter(narrowdown)displayed/monitoredmessagesbyeachidentifier(username,planthierarchytitle,purposealarmpriority,etc.)includedinmessages.

•Shelving Afunctiontomovemessageswithlowprioritytoanotherfoldertoshelvethemtemporarilyorforacertainperiodoftime.Byspecifyingtheshelvingtime,itispossibletoclearalarmsoutofmainA&EMessagePanecollectively.
•LoadShedding Afunctiontoautomaticallyactivatefilteringspecifiedbeforehandtopreventfloodsofalarmsandeventsinordertoreduceoperators’monitoringloadandtopreventoverlookofimportantalarmsandfalseoperation,incaseanumberofalarmsandeventshappentobegivenoutinashortperiodoftime.
