., 4. Detailed site investigation to determine the nature and extent of on and off-site subsurface contamination.

5. Conduct a feasibility study to evalilaate possible remedial alternatives for containment, re~l or treatment of the soil and/or groundwater if it is fiGund to be contaminated.

6. Design and implement the feasible ~medial alternatives.

EPA presently intends to initiate the removal and disposal of the materials contained in the storage tanks no later than May 16, 1983. In addition, EPA intends to ent~ a Cooperative Agreement

! ' with the Commonwealth of Maaaadbasetts ~ undertake the other actions described above on or abcut June 15, 1983.

You should notify EPA in writing~ ~ay 2, 1983, of the nature and extent of activities your client m~ be willing to undertake. If your client intends to undertake bbe&e activities, a plan

I' should be presented to EPA no later ~ May 9, 1983, describingthe steps you will take to initiate these activities within the time frames described above.
