INDONESIAS BALANCE OF TRADE JAN-SEPT 2010
Indonesiastrade performance in September 2010 reached a surplus of US$ 2,5 billion.
The trade surplus was contributed by non-oil sector trade surplus that reached US$ 2,6 billion, while oil and gas
sector trade deficit of US$ 0,1 billion.
Cumulatively, Indonesiastrade from January until September 2010 had a surplus of US$ 13,5 billion, up 14,2%
from the surplus over the same period in 2009.
The trade surplus during 2010 was contributed by non-oil sector trade surplus that reached US$ 14 billion,
while oil and gas sector deficit of US$ 0,5 billion.

NON-OIL EXPORTS PERFORMANCE BY SECTOR JAN-SEPT 2010
During January-September 2010 non-oil export value reached US$ 91,8 billion, up 34,9% from the same periodin 2009, and 2,9% higher than the same period in 2008.
The strengthening of non-oil export during January-September 2010 was driven by the increased export of all
sectors.
Exports of manufactured products has increased significantly by 34,2%, after experiencing a contraction of
25,5% in 2009.
Until the third quarter of 2010 the value of Indonesiasmanufactured exports rose to US$ 68,9 billion.

Increased value of manufactured exports was driven by strong export performance of some products
that increased significantly.
Export of rubber products increased sharply from January-August 2010, amounting to 100,5% because
it is influenced by the rising of export volumes (15,7%) and the rising of international prices due to the
reduced supply that caused by the rainy season that hit the countries of major producers of rubbers.
In the meantime, exports of automotive products, footwear, forest products and cacao each increased
by 49,2%, 38,2%, 35,8% and 29,2%.

NON-OIL IMPORTS BASED ON USE OF GOODS
Imports that increased from January to September 2010 was driven by increased imports of all
goods category, where the value of raw materials and auxiliary import continue to dominate the
structure of imports, followed by capital and consumer goods.
The increased demand of imported raw materials/auxiliary and capital goods in respond to the
increasing realization of investment during January-September amounted to 33,4%, including an
increase in realized investment in the third quarter compared to second quarter amounted to
11,6%.
The proportion of imported raw materials/auxiliary during January-September 2010 has
increased from 71,4% to 72,8%. The increased imports of raw materials/auxiliary reflected the
growth of domestic industries.

Importer Identification Number (API)
BACKGROUND: One of the efforts to enhance business certainty and to support the speed of service to business
environment in order to improve the implementation of capital investment.
PURPOSE: to facilitate data collection, supervise and control.
TYPES OF API :1. API-U (General Importer Identification Number);
Company / importers who import goods for the purposes of business activity with a trade or
transfer goods to another party.2. API-P (Producer Importer Identification Number)
Company / importers who import goods for themselves and / or to support the production
process and not allowed to trade or transfer to another party.
AGENCY WHICH ISSUED API:Provincial Office:
Publishes API-U, and API-P to the company other business entities or contractors and foreign companies anddomestic investment.
BKPM:
Publishes API-P for domestic and foreign company.
Director General of Foreign Trade:
Publishes API-P to the enterprise or a contractor in the field of energy, oil and gas, minerals, and other natural
