    A. 120 V, 20 Ampere Duplex ReceptacleThis duplex is split so that 20 amps of current may be

    drawn from each half of the receptacle. However, total powerdrawn must be kept within nameplate ratings. Thesereceptacles may be used along with the twistlock receptacleprovided the generator is not overloaded.

    B. 120/240 V, 20 Ampere Twistlock ReceptacleA maximum of 20 amps may be drawn from the 120/240

    volt receptacle, provided it is the only receptacle used. However, current must be limited to the nameplate rating. If the120/240 volt receptacle is used along with the 120 voltreceptacle, the total load drawn must not exceed the nameplateratings.

    C. Circuit BreakersThe receptacles are protected by an AC circuit breaker. If

    the generator is overloaded or an external short circuit occurs,the circuit breaker will trip. If this occurs, disconnect allelectrical loads and try to determine the cause of the problembefore attempting to use the generator again. If overloadingcauses the circuit breaker to trip, reduce the load. NOTE:Continuous tripping of the circuit breaker may causedamage to generator or equipment. The circuit breaker maybe reset by pushing the button of the breaker.

    D. 120 V, 30 Ampere Twistlock ReceptacleYou may draw a maximum of 30 amps or 3600 watts from

    this receptacle. If other receptacles are used at the same time,total power used must be kept within nameplate ratings.

    E. CordKeeperThe CordKeeper is a unique

    feature used to prevent plugs frombeing pulled out of the 120-voltreceptacles.

    ELECTRIC START WIRINGThis model is equipped with a trickle charge system. The

    14 AWG (American Wire Gauge) red wire which comes fromthe engine should be connected to the positive battery terminal(see engine operator manual).

    The battery is customer provided. Supplied with yourgenerator are #8 AWG (American Wire Gauge) copper leads.Provide a lead from the push button switch to the positive (+)battery terminal and a lead from the chassis of the generator to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    WARNING: Batteries contain sulfuricacid (when filled). May contain explosive gasses. Always abide by safety warnings provided with the battery.

    - Keep sparks, flame and cigarettes away.- Hydrogen gas is generated during

    charging and discharging.- Always shield eyes, protect skin and

    clothing when working near batteries.

    CAUTION: This battery charging system is intended torecharge weak batteries, not to boost start vehicles.

    Battery InstallationColeman Powermate recommends a 12 v battery with at

    least 235 cranking amps. Model U1L, Lawn and GardenBattery. Place the battery in the position provided. Then placethe bolts through the loops on the Hold-Down bracket. Placethe assembly over the battery and place the bolts through theholes on the battery pan and tighten down the Hold-Downassembly with the 1/4-20 nuts provided.

    Spacers may be added depending on the battery height.

    WARNING: Batteries contain sulfuric acid (when filled). May contain explosive gasses. Always abide by safety warnings provided with the battery.

    Connect the Rd 8ga. battery lead to the positive batterypost and the black 8ga. battery to the negative battery post withthe bolts and nuts provided.

    This product is warranted by Coleman Powermate, Inc. to theoriginal retail consumer against defects in material andworkmanship for a period of two years from the date of retailpurchase and is not transferable. This two year warrantyapplies only to products used in consumer applications. If thisgenerator is used in a commercial application, then the periodof warranty coverage is limited to ninety (90) days from the dateof purchase.

    WHAT IS COVERED: Replacement parts and labor.

    WHAT IS NOT COVERED: Transportation charges toColeman Powermate, Inc. for defective products.Transportation charges to consumer for repaired products.Brushes, fuses, rubber feet, and receptacles. Damagescaused by abuse, accident, improper repair, or failure toperform normal maintenance. Power units or engines whichare covered exclusively by the warranties of their manufacturer.Sales outside of the United States or Canada. Any otherexpense including consequential damages, incidental damages, or incidental expenses, including damage toproperty. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitationof incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitationor exclusion may not apply to you.

    IMPLIED WARRANTIES: Any implied warranties, includingthe Implied Warranties of Merchantability and Fitness For AParticular Purpose, are limited in duration to two (2) years fromthe date of retail purchase. Some states do not allowlimitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the abovelimitation may not apply to you.

    HOW TO OBTAIN WARRANTY PERFORMANCE: Replacement parts and service are available from ColemanPowermate, Inc. Service Centers. Locate your nearest ServiceCenter by calling TOLL FREE 1-800-445-1805. In the unlikelyevent a Service Center can not be located you may callColeman Powermate, Inc. for a return authorization number.Any unit returned WITHOUT an authorization number willbe refused.

Si le disjoncteur saute enraison dune surcharge, rduire la charge. REMARQUE : Lagnratrice ou les appareils branchs dessus peuvent setrouver abms si le disjoncteur saute continuellement.Appuyer sur le bouton du disjoncteur pour le renclencher.

    CBLAGE LECTRIQUE AU DMARRAGEVotre moteur est quip dun systme de charge

    dentretien. Le fil rouge #14 AWG (American Wire Gauge)sortant du moteur doit tre branch la cosse positive de labatterie (Voir le manuel de loprateur du moteur).

    Pour certains modles, la batterie et les fils de la batteriedoivent tre fournis par le client. Utilisez des fils de cuivre #8AWG (American Wire Gauge). Installez un fil de linterrupteur bouton poussoir la cosse positive (+) de la batterie et un fil duchssis du gnrateur la cosse ngative (-) de la batterie.
