Only one toe was lost.Use the WCB CD that demonstrates hearing lossAn employee who learned the importance of wearing safety glasses at work, encouraged his eighteen-year-old son, who works in construction installing siding on houses, to wear safety glasses. His son was resistant and stated that he didn't need them; he felt that he wasnt going to get hurt. Later the son got aluminum dust in his eyes while cutting gutter material. The employee told his son that he really needed to wear safety glasses and that they would keep dust out of his eyes. His son finally relented and started wearing the glasses. A week or so later, the son was applying siding with an air powered staple gun. When he fired the gun, a staple hit a metal plate behind the siding, ricocheted back towards his face, and one leg of the staple penetrated the safety glasses lens. The staple hit with such force that the frames were cracked and the son received bruising on the eyebrow and cheekbone from the impact. The safety glasses definitely saved his eyesight and possibly his life!Baseball glove story form when baseball first started.Using Chocolate syrup, get participants to do this exerciseShow the different types.Have one of the participants demonstrate donning and fit checkShow of Carrier industries video on fall protectionAsk for all the items to be worn when welding or working with a welder. In or around the outside areas of the hog & chip piles, woodroom, rail dump and truck dump areas due to heavy equipment & truck traffic. When you enter into the warehouse so the forklift operators can see you.If you work with or around mobile equipment you must wear a high - vis vest as per WCB Regulation 8.24 (3).Or if you are directing trafficOr performing the duties of a safety watchThe reason - "So You Can Be Seen".
