Here we see the first sin, as well as the first Messianic prophecy – Gen. 3:9-15
God destroyed the world as it was, and gave us a sign & promise – Gen. 9:12-17

Abraham is given promises by God, believes, and obeys – Gen. 15:1-6
Even going so far as willing to sacrifice his son
The promise is repeated to (through) Isaac – Gen. 26:1-5

A crafty, deceitful man
Yet chosen by God – Gen. 28:12-15
Given a new name, which his descendants carried on – Gen. 32:24-28

The book ends again repeating the theme of God’s people – Gen. 50:22-26

In Genesis, we see the origin of the universe and the origin of the Hebrew nation. God’s power, truth, and love are clearly shown in this book of history. We see sin and its consequences, as well as the promise of one who would come and bless all nations of the earth.
