Simon Gruber “Läpl”Hello Simon, you became ‘rider of the year’ in Italy. In the winterseason you shaped at Seiser Alm, how can you handle it to shape in Val Seanales besides your whole other stuff?
Hey. It’s quiet stressful, but in the summer in Val Senaleswe work for two weeks intensively under high pressure tobuild the whole park. Afterwards we are six shapers tomaintain the park, so we have still enough time to ride.I think it’s sick to hit self-shaped obstacles.
You come to the Gentlemens Park to shape it for the 4thyear, since two years as headshaper. What motivates youto return to Val Senales every summer?
The job and the park offer to me perfect training condi-tions. I work togheter with the F-tech park construction company as a coordinator. So I’m able to affect the park-setup a little bit, what I really like. We are anxious to build a park for every level, from easy over medium to pro lines.

Lorenz Breitenberger aka“Lääänz”You build, together with the F-tech company the BIG park @ Kronplatz/Plan de corones and maintainded it the whole winterseason, why did you decide to shape the Gentlemenriders Park in summer?
Well, first Schnalstal/ValSenales is my home resort and i haven’t got the time in winter to shred there with my homies who have spent most of the winter there. They will be there in summer too.second i love snowboarding and this gives me the possibility to ride in summer too. Last but not least the park is the burner!!!!
Christian Vieider aka “Terlan”You’re the latest entry of the shaper crew. What are your motives to shape the park in the summer already for the second season?
I hurt my knee badly last season. Now i begun to ride again a couple of month ago, but the knee isn’t totally cured yet. I have to be on the mountain and on the snow so it’s the perfect solution for me.I also do film stuff for the GMR video production up on the glacier. On the park I can rock the easy line to do some jibbing to satisfy my thirst for snowboarding.

Johannes Gögele “Hons”You returned from a World journey these days, why do you go directly back to work on the mountain?
After my time as a headshaper in Schnalstal/ Val Senales a few seasons ago, I went to the Phillipines to surf and ex-plore the world. I came back to Schnalstal/ Val Senales to meet the people I haven´t seen for a long time and finally to shred the Gentlemen´s park again.I like the title of the last week of the summer season which is „Gentlemenriders glaciersurfing week“.
Tommaso Verza “Verza”You where headshaper at Obereggen the winter season, why do you sacrifice your time in summer to shape at Gentlemenspark Schnalstal/ValSenales
Because a very innovative park was planned and con-structed there. It´s great to plan and realize insane obstacles with the F-tech and GentlemenRiders crew. Furthermore it pushes me to shred with good riders. I like to do party, and that´s what the gentlemenriders do. They turn on their BBQ and celebrate a couple of times a week. The evenings can be spent in the pub. Probably this influenced my decision haha.

Daniel Neulichedl “Plazy”Hey Plazy, this is already going to be the fourth summer season in Schnalstal/ Val Senales in which you are going to shape the Gentlemenrider´s Park. Tell us about your reasons to return onto the glacier every year!
In Schnalstal/ Val Senales the atmosphere is very nice and snowboarding really is the head of everything. You can meet easy going people and some- times you get to know a nice girl.
What about this picture in the background?
This shows the fakieshop.com shooting which happened in july 2008 - during the last week of the Gentlemenrid-ers summer. You can see that on the emerging ice in the background. The kickers still worked very good, the snow was fine till the end of the season.
This winter there was a lot of heavy snowfall. Is it true that, as a result, you will be able to build a new line this summer?
Ya we´re going to apply a 12 m handrail and a 16 m down-straightdown doublekinked rail.

The Snowboardclub “Gentlemen Riders” was founded
in 2005 with the aim to unite and push
the snowboard scene in South Tyrol/North Italy.
Today, 4 years later, we proudly can show
what we’ve done the last years.
Nowadays we are planning and working with inter-
ested ski resorts on snowparc projects. This
resulted in numerous smaller and bigger parks
throughout the country.
Our showcase is the Gentlemens Park in Val Senales.
It is a small year-round ski resort,
which developed in the scene to the “secret spot”,
which attract many international, -well
known Snowboarders.
