Study of Glacier Lake Outburst Flows (GLOFs) in the State of Sikkim
To understand the Glacier Lake Outburst Flows (GLOFs) phenomenon by creating an inventory of existing glaciers, glacial lakes and monitoring the GLOF events on a regular basis.
Development of model for prediction of GLOF/flash floods, areas likely to be inundated/affected by GLOFs, and Impact assessment of GLOFs.
Design and Development of real time field sensors for recording rise in water level in selected moraine dammed lakes. Installation and commissioning of the field sensor network
Development of GIS based Glacier Lake Management Information System (GLAMINFORS) for the state of Sikkim.
