INTRODUCTIONKeytec Geomembranes is a private company, exclusively dedicated to the delivery of quality products and services to the construction and civil engineering industry. We have a wealth of relevant technical knowledge and experience of developing and installing geomembranes and gas protection products. Keytec manufactures gas barriers and components used by the engineering, construction, leisure, and oil and water industries. We also supply and install a wide range of geomembrane-geotextile products that help to protect the environment for the benefit of future generations.

Keytec 400 gas barrier: Specification methane and CO²

Keytec 400 gas membrane is loose laid to a prepared substrate. The membrane contains at least 15µ aluminium foil, reinforced with polyester multistrand scrim and encapsulated with polyethylene films. The puncture resistance has a CBR of at least 142N and maximum elongation of 3.3% with a minimum thickness of 0.46mm and a methane transmission of less than < 0.01cm³/m²/h. Keytec 400 is fully hot-air welded and tested for peel and sheer within the application.

The membrane is loose laid to the formation with 100mm overlaps welded by hot air fusion at seams and terminated at the edge of the outer leaf of the structure.

Care must be taken to ensure that the gas membrane is not punctured prior to the casting of the concrete floor slab or screed.

All service entries are sealed with proprietary top-hat sections and heat welded to the gas barrier or adhesive methane membrane in the case of multi-ducts. [Keyflex GMA]

310. WORKMANSHIP GENERALLY:

Materials must be applied with care to provide a completely gas impervious and damp proof membrane.

APPLICATION

Cut to size, remove backing paper, apply to substrate. Where applying to a friable surface the application of Keyflex primer is required. Apply by brush or roller, ensure primer is dry before fixing membrane to surface. For detailed application, contact our technical support staff.

SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION

The adhesive gas membrane, Keyflex AGM, must be applied to the substrate with 150mm overlap and contains the minimum gas transmission properties of < 0.03 ml / m² /24h @ atm and where masonry is friable, the substrate shall be primed with Keyflex primer.

PRIMERA solution of bitumen in a blend of aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents (OEL 100ppm 8 hrs TWA). Coverage rate 5 to 7 m² per litre, less on more porous substrates.

APPLICATION

Optimum performance will be achieved when applied to clean, dry, dust and grease-free surfaces. Excellent adhesion to plastic, wood, metal and masonry. Recommended size application, 100mm & 70mm for polyethylenes, polypropylenes and butyl. 100mm, 70mm & 50mm for gas barriers. 30mm & 15mm radon barriers.

SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION

Keyseal Tape must be applied to a dry surface into a 150mm overlap of the membrane and pressed down firmly to achieve a gas tight seal. The tape should only be applied at temperatures above 5°C.

Reinforced Chemical Resistant Membrane

MRC1500

WHAT IS MRC 1500?MRC1500 is a synthetic reinforced membrane based on a polyester textile which is molecularly coated with a high quality resin. The polyester tissue gives high mechanical properties to the membrane while the coating provides the waterproofing and chemical resistance. The tissue consists of polyester threads. The polyester tissue is firstly impregnated with a resin to avoid all wicking effects; then the tissues are coated with a resin. This resin is an “interethylene polymer resin” which provides the membrane with a high resistance against petroleum products and other chemicals. MRC1500 membrane is very flexible and has a high dimensional stability.

SUGGESTED SPECIFICATION Keytec MRC1500 is a synthetic reinforced membrane bored on a polyester textile which is molecularly coated with a high quality resin. It has a mass per unit area of 1092gm² and a thickness of 0.91mm.
