Geometry is the second of the four math credits that you will have in high school. Because this is an honors course, you will be expected to be more mature and to perform on that level. This course requires you to do all homework assignments and study to be successful. If you are not willing to prepare for class and you establish this as a habit, you will be asked to attend tutoring before or after school. Geometry is a special branch of mathematics. It may be unlike anything you have studied before. Keep an open mind and this year you will learn to think about things in different ways and hopefully appreciate the geometry that is all around you! I am looking forward to a good year with you. Please give this class your best attempt everyday and don’t give up! You may find this a refreshing change from algebra. Geometry is about thinking and making connections.

What is TNReady?Taken from tn.gov/education under “parent guide”
TNReady is the state's new and improved TCAP test for math and English language arts in grades 3-11. It will provide you better information about your student's
progress. The new TNReady TCAP tests are designed to assess true student understanding, not just basic memorization and test-taking skills. TNReady will
measure students' understanding of our current state standards in Englishlanguage arts and math.
TNReady is more than just a new TCAP. It is a new way to assess what our students know and what we can do to help them succeed in the future. Just as we take our
children to the doctor for their annual check-ups, TNReady offers parents, students, and teachers with an academic check-up each year to ensure all students are
moving forward, on track to graduate from high school, and prepared for success in postsecondary and the workplace.
We’ve included additional details in this guide to answer questions about TNReady and how it will impact your student this school year. You can find more information
on our website at: tn.gov/TNReady.
We know that in college, technical schools, and in most jobs, communication is done electronically. It is the way of our world. We must prepare students for their future, which requires comfort with technology. With that in mind, TNReady will
be taken online. Encourage your student to begin using digital devices everyday inlow stress situations. Don't wait until testing begins to help your student learn how
to use a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer.
