GEORGES RIVER COUNCIL'S Christmas Message FROM THE MAYOR

Welcome to Carss Bush Park for Magic of Christmas 2018. This is the eighth year Council has hosted this special event, and the evening is the perfect opportunity to get into the festive spirit and celebrate with family and friends.

Tonight you will enjoy some fantastic entertainment, including Jump St Performers, Sydney Vocal Acadamy, TK Dance Stars, Shire Music Theatre, The Rudolph Christmas Show, The Grinch Live Show, Tim Moxey and popular children’s performer Colin Buchanan.

The event will also have a special visit from Santa and then conclude with a spectacular fireworks display over Kogarah Bay.

Magic of Christmas is just one event in Council’s 2018/19 Summer Events Program. Don’t miss out on more free events, including our Australia Day Festival and Lunar New Year Festival celebrations.

EMCEE - KERSTYN WALSH Kerstyn has been on stage her whole life - in theatre, as emcee, singing with her band; any opportunity! After graduating from Screenwise, she has since starred in short films, TV ads and plays across different genres, most recently as Shelby in 'Steel Magnolias'. Her musical theatre credits include favourite roles of Maureen in 'RENT', Cinderella in 'Into the Woods' and Marty in 'Grease'. She believes it's important to always better her skills, so she continues to study with Sandra-Lee Patterson. An avid writer, Kerstyn is currently producing the web series she wrote with writing partner, R. Williams.

SYDNEY VOCAL ACADEMYSydney Vocal Academy (SVA) is a thriving community of singers based in Kirrawee that welcomes students of all ages and experience levels. Many of our students have had lead roles in professional and amateur musical theatre productions, and others have enjoyed success in the pop music industry. Owned by Tim and Lauren Moxey and supported by a team of incredible staff, at SVA we are passionate about raising up the next generation of performers. SVA hosts a number of concerts each year, and is presenting a production of Elf Jr on December 20 at Sutherland Entertainment Centre. Today you’ll enjoy performances from some of our advanced students - the SVA Performance Team.

SHIRE MUSIC THEATREShire Music Theatre (SMT) is a community based musical society that produces high quality Musical Theatre shows for the community to enjoy. In October this year SMT put on Miracle On 34th Street, which proved to be a successful and enjoyable show. Our upcoming show for March 2019 is High School Musical. SMT is honoured to be performing at the Magic of Christmas this year and hopes you enjoy this snippet of what we do as a community theatre group.

TK DANCE STARSTK Dance Stars is Southern Sydney's Family oriented Dance Studio catering for all ages! We strive to provide a nurturing and motivating environment for all of our students where they are not only learning skills in dance but are creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. Offering a wide variety of class styles including tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip hop and acrobatics, we aim to inspire the dancer within giving rise to energetic, passionate and dedicated dancers and happy and dedicated stars of the future!

TIM MOXEYTim Moxey is a seasoned and versatile singer and songwriter with a remarkable voice that connects both power and beauty. Tim won hearts with his appearances on The Voice and X Factor, and he performs regularly around Sydney and beyond, covering a wide range of styles including musical theatre, folk, rock and pop. He has recorded two full-length albums and his YouTube channel features many more recordings. Tim’s genuine love of music and singing shines through every note he sings.
