Let’s all be part of

DONORnation

Every three days someone dies in On-

tario because the life-saving organ

transplant they need is not available,

yet less than 30% of Ontarians have

registered their consent to be a do-

nor. It's really surprising, and it's not

good enough. Especially for the over

1,500 people in our province waiting

for organ transplants and the thou-

sands more waiting for tissue trans-

plants.

GBGH is committed to doing our

part. We're asking our community to

register their consent for organ and

tissue donation. It can be done online

via GBGH’s organizational page in

just two minutes. Please visit https://

www.beadonor.ca/campaign/gbgh.

We're also asking you to encourage

friends and family to register or check

to see if they’re already registered.

Registering to be a donor might be

the greatest gift you ever give. If

you'd hope a live-saving transplant

would be available for your friends

and loved ones, please register today

and become part of DONORnation.

We’re hiring… (pssst, pass it on!)

LaChapelle Golf Tournament benefits ED construction

The 2017 Gail LaChapelle Memorial Golf Tour-

nament took place on Friday, September 8,

2017 at the Midland Golf and Country Club.

A tradition for the past 11 years, golfers took

to the course to remember, socialize and

support Georgian Bay General Hospital,

where Gail was employed as a nurse in the

Emergency department (ED).

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of

the organizing committee, nearly $30,000

was raised for the ED redevelopment at the

hospital.

Accepting the generous donation amid the

ED construction is (left to right): Janine Du-

quette, Infection Prevention, GBGH; Karla

Trewin, Professional Practice, GBGH; Michelle

Marchand, Nursing, GBGH; Michael La

Chapelle, Facilities, GBGH; Gail Hunt, presi-

dent and CEO, GBGH; Gerard La Chapelle;

and Shelly Price, GBGH Foundation.
