    PARENTS EXPERIENCEs

There are open doors for innovation and theorganization is lled with youngsters who arepassionate to achieve heights in their life. Drivenby highly motivated students all across the globeI am glad to have my daughter as a part of sucha huge platform, which contributes to the overalldevelopment of an individual.

The best part, which I personally nd, is the immenseknowledge which a student gains when he/she goesfor an internship. My daughter has been to Mauritiusfor her Social Entrepreneurship experience throughAIESEC and the change I see in her post the experienceis huge. She has lived with people who belonged todierent countries, cultures, possessed varied values, beliefs, had dierent thoughts, opinions, viewpointsand today it makes me proud to say that she can verycondentially interact with anyone from across theglobe.

Being culturally sensitive, AIESEC has helped her build

contacts almost everywhere in the world, which hascertainly made her more aware and knowledgeable. The internships give you an experience, whichcan never be forgotten. I am impressed by the waystudents working in AIESEC communicate with theprofessionals in corporates.

They have their own charisma where in they smartlywalk in, talk to you, get sponsorships, do activitieswhich are telecasted live and lots more which cannotbe put into words. All I can say is that its a reallypleasant feeling to see your child growing at sucha pace and talking to you about things, which youmight have never even heard of.

We are very thankful to AIESEC, for giving such awonderful opportunity to my daughter.

The exposure she has gained from the GlobalEntrepreneurs Program has been fantastic. She haslearnt a number of skills and has gained an internationalperspective. We agree that its worth experiencing it.

After returning from the internship, we could noticeher behavioral changes like understanding situationsand people, moving with patience, being positiveetc. We are glad and we hope that AIESEC will giveher many more opportunities like this, to improve herabilities and skills.

We also hope that it helps her professional life byguiding her in decision-making and to improvise hercareer opportunities.

ALUMNII became a part of AIESEC in2002 and took up variousLeadership roles such as VicePresident and President of aLocal Committee. I decideto take a up an internationalinternship because theworld is rapidly becominga global village and havingseen the benets that an

AIESEC experience provided to our interns, I decided

that an internship would be an ideal way in which tounderstand the global economic scenario.

LEARNINGThe exposure that I had during my internship in Polandcannot be summed up in words. The work ethics andculture have been an eye opener to me. Each daybrought with it something new to learn-the language, the culture, the economy, the people. However, mybiggest learning would have to be to respect dierentcultures, dierent people for who they are and thatwould earn me their respect.

IMPACTAn AIESEC internship is the perfect way to understandand experience dierent cultures in one program. Therewere interns from 16 dierent countries in Poznanduring my stay there and we became like family. It washere that I started to think about how we can transcendthe physical boundaries with our human emotions.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENTVery few people get an opportunity to interact withpeople from all walks of life. Only in AIESEC did I get anopportunity to interact with my peers, my seniors, peoplewhom I have looked up to in business and also peoplefrom so many dierent nationalities. My experienceshave made me a more focused and determinedindividual but it has also given me the courage to admitmistakes and seek advice from people who are moreknowledgeable than me. Although ones personality isan intangible asset, I believe it is also ones most valuable

asset and that is what an AIESEC experience develops inpeople.

CAREER DEVELOPMENTThe most dicult task of being an entrepreneur andbusinessman is to handle people. More often than notI have to deal with people who are either far moresenior and more experienced than myself or are from adierent cultural background. The ethics and values thatI have seen in my internship have helped me shape mybusiness into a more people friendly environment. I ndit far easier to negotiate and communicate with peopledue to the practical exposure that I had in my AIESECcareer. My internship has given me an understandinginto the global thought process and has enabled me touse these in the Indian environment.
