Will change happen?• One of the most consistent and universal

ironies of the change process in education, is, that change can happen, but the student experience can remain largely the same. Educational change is one of those processes which has a habit of resetting itself back to how things have always been done.

Opportunities• We could make the experience of the

German language classroom engaging, exciting and motivating.

• We need to find a way of teaching and assessing languages that is not translation.

• We need to calibrate our exams against the CEF and set JC at A2 level.

• We need to seize this change as a great opportunity to do something radical.
