As you may know, our District Sales Representatives are back in the field, making in-store visits while wearing masks, and following other guidelines set forth by the PA Department of Health, to keep you safe. Your representative’s number one priority is you and your Lottery business; helping complete urgent tasks and checking off Lottery daily to-do list items, which we hope include some Best Practices. Your Sales Representative can also provide you with information about the Retailer Incentive Program, which highlights our Best Practices.

We appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you for helping us grow the Pennsylvania Lottery in to one of the most successful lotteries in the U.S.

With your help, the Pennsylvania Lottery sold more than $4.47 billion in games in the 2019-20 fiscal year, from which it generated, for the ninth consecutive year, profit of more than $1 billion, to benefit older Pennsylvanians. All of this could not have been possible without the cooperation and support of you, our valued partners.

We’re proud to have you as part of our group of more than 10,000 licensed PA Lottery retailers statewide who, this past fiscal year, have earned more than $257 million in sales commissions (retailer commission and the retail incentive program).

The Lottery will conduct quarterly promotions that provide you with an opportunity to receive bonus earnings on the sale of select products! For this first quarter (July 1 - September 30, 2020), you can earn a 5 percent bonus on the sale of the Wild Ball add-on (available for the PICK family of games).

Speak to your District Sales Representative for more information on how you can participate in this year’s Retailer Incentive Program. We look forward to rewarding your successes again this new fiscal year!

This year’s program will provide an opportunity for even more retailers to earn bonus money by implementing Best Practices! New this year, if you had a quarterly average of $100,000 or more in sales of traditional Lottery products in Fiscal Year 2019-20*, you will qualify to participate in the Best Practice Initiative!

* A retailer must have sales for the entirety of the last fiscal year in order to be eligible

If you’re still working your way up to $100,000 per quarter in Lottery sales, we would be happy to help you add Best Practice elements to your store to help that average grow, however, you will not qualify for the Best Practice bonus payouts. We also welcome you to conduct either an Ask for the Sale or Second-Chance Drawing. Lottery will match your prize with up to a $100 value of Lottery coupons or promotional tickets.

During Q4 of the 2019-20 Fiscal Year, qualifying retailers earned $271,000 in additional monies by implementing select Lottery Best Practices at their stores.

Retailer sales incentive baselines are based off prior year sales for the quarter. A retailer who exceeds their sales baseline by 4-7.99 percent, will be awarded an additional 0.75 percent incentive above the Standard Retailer Commission. Retailers who exceed their sales baseline by 8 percent or more will be awarded an additional 0.75 percent for a total of 1.5 percent incentive above the Standard Retailer Commission. Additional commission amounts are issued as an adjustment credit on one of the Weekly Settlements that follows the end of each quarter.

What You Should KnowAs restrictions have lifted throughout Pennsylvania, our District Sales Representatives have returned to the field for in-person visits to your retail locations.

The safety and health of our players, retailers, and staff are our top priority. All PA Lottery employees working in the field and in offices are adhering to guidelines provided by the PA Department of Health. These guidelines include wearing a mask, ensuring social distancing, frequent hand-washing/sanitizing and staying home if sick. Please let your District Sales Representative know if you have any specific vendor/visitor requirements prior to their next visit.

We kindly ask that retailers with limited space, such as newsstands and gas kiosks, be mindful of social distancing guidelines to ensure District Sales Representatives can service their location safely.

We encourage all retailers to follow the Department of Health guidelines and review the Cleaning & Disinfecting Your Lottery Terminal Guide.

As District Sales Representatives begin their visits, they will first concentrate on helping you maximize your Lottery sales at this critical time. To ensure your Lottery sales are as robust as possible, representatives will prioritize their visit schedule to maximize sales impact and handle any urgent sales-related needs as soon as possible.

Upon their first visit, tasks will include replacing old signage with updated versions, delivering playslips, helping retailers activate and display new and best-selling games, and conducting other general sales-oriented tasks. Representatives will also review opportunities available to you through participation in the Customer Referral Program and the Retailer Incentive Program (such as first quarter sales goal, bonus earnings, and best practice implementation). General administrative tasks such as pack pick-up will resume once urgent matters are resolved.
