Teacher AreaThe Teacher Area is your base camp for finding and organizing materials that engage your students in perfecting their reading skills.

Everything you need can be found on the Raz-Plus main navigation bar:

• Resource Menu for reading materials

• File Cabinet to organize resources, assign to students, and share with your fellow educators

• Manage Students to edit your class roster and monitor student progress

• Teacher Corner to find helpful tools to support your planning and instruction

⊲ Leveled Books Resources > Books > Leveled Books Leveled Books are offered at 29 different reading levels and supported with lesson plans, quizzes, and worksheets. Leveled Books are available in English, Spanish, French, British English, Polish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

⊲ Reader’s Theater Scripts Resources > Key Reading Skills > Reader’s Theater Scripts Reader’s Theater Scripts encourage students to read with expression and practice important fluency attributes such as pause, inflection, and intonation.

⊲ Decodable Books and Phonics Lessons Resources > Foundational Skills > Decodable Books & Phonics Lessons Each new lesson and book introduces a new phonics element while supporting previously taught phonics elements and high-frequency words, or sight words.

⊲ Close Reading Packs Resources > 21st Century / Common Core > Close Reading Packs Passages and worksheets structure collaborative, critical thinking of fiction and nonfiction texts.

⊲ Assessments Resources > Assessments Assessments help evaluate student reading progress with books and passages with Running Records as well as letter naming, high-frequency words, and more.

Resource MenuWHAT IS IT?

The Resource Menu is the heart of Raz-Plus. Here you will find resources such as leveled books as well as resources for foundational and 21st Century skills, assessments, and more!

WHERE DO I FIND IT?Mouse over Resources on the left side of the menu bar at the top of the screen.

POINTS OF INTEREST

The Planet icon displayed next to a resource indicates that you can digitally assign it to students.

Click book thumbnails to view a book’s details and a selection of resources.

File CabinetWHAT DOES IT DO?

The File Cabinet is where you store and organize all your instructional resources. You can share files with fellow educators on the same Raz-Plus license. You can also assign resources to students from your file folders.

WHERE DO I FIND IT?In the middle of the menu bar next to Manage Students, select File Cabinet.

FILE CABINET TIPS

To share a file, click the three-line icon on the file and select Share. The share icon will appear on the files you have shared.

TEACHER AREA

⊲ My Files File Cabinet > My Files Create File Folders based on topic, grade level, or unit theme. You can automatically save resources to a particular folder while you browse resources by clicking on the green folder icon after you click on a resource or by hovering over a book icon and selecting the Add To button.

⊲ Shared Files File Cabinet > Shared Files Add resources to a folder that will be shared with fellow educators in your school or district. Your shared file will appear under your school name in a folder with your name.

When you open up a folder, click the orange Assign Resources button. Assign the resources to an individual student, group of students, or the whole class with a message and a due date. A check mark will appear on the file once assigned.

Manage StudentsWHAT DOES IT DO?

Manage Students is the starting point for accessing your student roster and reports, managing assignments, and reviewing and scoring student activities in your In Basket.

WHERE DO I FIND IT?Mouse over Manage Students in the menu bar across the top of the screen.

MANAGE STUDENTS TIPS

Create groups in your roster and then assign resources, send a group message, and monitor progress.

Access students’ recorded Running Records in your In Basket.

Click the Need Help button to walk through questions you might have.

⊲ Class Roster Manage Students > Roster Add or transfer students, edit student info and reading levels, and create student groups.

⊲ Reports Manage Students > Reports Monitor individual, group, and whole-class progress on reading comprehension skills, Level Up progress, overall activity, and more.

⊲ Assignment Manage Students > Assignment Manage the progress of individual or group assignments.

⊲ In Basket Manage Students > In Basket View and score completed assignments

Teacher Corner is a collection of helpful tools, charts, and documents that support your planning and instruction.

WHERE DO I FIND IT?Select Teacher Corner on the far right side of the menu bar at the top of the screen.

⊲ Instructional Tools Teacher Corner > Instructional Tools Learn how to assign a single book or a group of resources and how to use the projectable tools in your classroom.

⊲ All About Leveling Teacher Corner > All About Leveling Find out how our text leveling system works with a leveling system overview, view a level correlation chart, and learn about the stages of reading development.

⊲ Student Connections Teacher Corner > Student Connections Learn how to get your students started with Raz-Plus. View the student interface to learn how to interact with the books and how incentives are earned and redeemed. Review the Parent Information to send letters home.
