    to 406Link.com. Here are some basic instructions on how you can get started in as little as 60 seconds.

  • The Map View allows you to choose between different map views (Street, Hybrid, Aerial and Birds eye), Zoom in and out of the map and n ig ting (No th E t So th nd We t) in onavigating (North, East, South and West) in your map view.

    This is where your beacon details are stored. On the far right side you will see the edit icon, which will allow you to make changes to your Beacon Details such as the Type of Beacon, Manufacturer, Model, Battery Replacement Date, Normal storage location and a contact phone number. Note that the 15 HEX ID cannot be changed. Each account is per Beacon and if an additional Beacon is to be added to your account, simply select Add New Beacon located on this page.

  • This page contains all of your self testof your self test, activation and service history for each beacon you have in your account. If you have multiple beacons in your account make sure you select the beacon you want to review first.

  • Self Testing Your Beacon:Note 406Link works with many different EPIRBs ELTs and PLBsNote 406Link works with many different EPIRBs, ELTs and PLBs. Please consult your owners manual for the proper self testing procedures.

    1. Self Test must be performed OUTSIDE with a CLEAR VIEW TO THE SKY

    2. For best result, face beacon towards the equator and make sure no buildings or obstructions are blocking the view to the sky.

    3. It is very important that you deploy your antenna prior to performing a self test so that the signal has the best chance to reach the satellites.

    4. Press the Self Test Button in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations

  • For best results, avoid doing a Self Test under a tree, next to a building or indoors.
