Getting Started with Libby For Android and iOS devices Libby App by OverDrive 1. Install the Libby App from your device's App store: • Apple App Store • Google Play 2. Follow the prompts to find Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL and sign in with your library card and PIN/password (usually the last 4 digits in your phone number). 3. Borrow titles by browsing or searching GVPL’s collection. 4. Borrowed titles appear on your Shelf and will automatically download to the Libby App when you're connected to Wi-Fi; this means you can read them when you're offline. Navigating Libby Tap to search for titles. Tap Explore with Filters to narrow your search by format, availability, language, etc. Tap to browse GVPL’s library collection and explore curated collection guides. Tap to see your loans, holds, and tags for all your libraries. Tap to see your timeline (history). Tap the menu icon to: Manage Notifications, including to change your notification settings. Tap Cards + (under Your Libraries) to see your library cards. This menu will allow you to add more GVPL cards. Tap Get Some Help for FAQs and to have your questions answered directly by Libby. Tap Settings to customize your experience in Libby. You can also use your desktop/laptop Internet browser to access Libby at libbyapp.com Sign In with your library card and PIN/password number and explore GVPL’s collections.

Tips For Using Libby 1. To renew or return a title early, tap your Shelf Loans (located at the top of the screen),

and Manage Loan to see options like Renew and Return.

2. To see your holds, tap your Shelf Holds (located at the top of the screen), and Manage

Hold for more options.

3. To browse by subject, Tap Subjects (located at the top of the screen).

4. To filter by format, subject, language, audience, availability,

• Use Advanced Search.

- Tap, then + More under Explore With Filters.

- Select Filter and tap All or Any to see available options.

- Tap Search. If you don't enter any search terms, you'll see the library's entire digital collection.

- Tap Preferences or Refine for more search options.

5. You may adjust your reading settings by using Text Scale, Lightning, and Design.

• Open a book on your Shelf .

• Tap the centre of the screen.

7. Tap at the top of your screen to access Text Scale, Lighting, and Design options.

6. There is no sign out button in Libby. If you want to sign out of Libby (and remove data from your

device), you can remove your library card(s) or reset the App.
