THANK YOU:

NEED A RIDE? If you are having trouble

attending church services

and/or church functions due to not

having transportation, let the Deacons

help you. We are only a phone call

away. The transportation Deacon for

April is Cathy Gardner 337-3233.

Thank You does not begin to capture what our family feels as this congregation poured out love upon us in the wake of my father’s death. The cards, prayers, well-wishes, and smiles sent our way have been that which sustains us during this difficult time. We are humbly yours ~ Lou, Candace and Alex Nyiri.

I want to thank all my caring church family for all the calls and cards I received after my mother,

Faye Johns’ death. I also want to thank everyone who brought me and my family delicious meals.

Contemporary Worship News: The Contemporary Worship Service Team is looking for someone to show the PowerPoint once a month during the 9:30 a.m. service. The PowerPoint is already put together; you would just need to be trained in how to follow along with the service and show the PP from the sound booth during the service. (You do not need to be particularly “techie” to do this- just willing to be trained!) We are also looking for artists of all kinds to contribute to the Contemporary Wor-ship Service. If you are gifted in drama, sing-ing, dancing, or American Sign Language, for example, we would love to put your tal-ents to good use occasionally! If you are interested in talking about either of these opportunities to serve God and our church family, please contact Libby Crowe at (717) 476-0821 or [email protected].

Young at Heart

Our April get-together will be a covered

dish luncheon on Thursday, April 10th at

12:00 noon. After the meal there will be a

presentation by Gregg Boehne, a retired

school teacher, exploring TOYS (T-o- O-ffer

Y-ou S-omething You Probably Had).

All are welcome. If you are not on a reg-

ular call list and would like to attend, please

bring a covered dish of your choosing and

your own place setting and join us for

this wonderful time of fellowship.

If you have any questions please contact

Pam or Dick Wisor at 359-8896 or email us

at [email protected].

No book reviews this time.

I want to tell you about a few exciting things

that will be happening in the next few months.

As I said in the last newsletter, Ross Brownley

agreed to build us a new book mobile. It will

be made of wood and will be two sided. It will

also be on casters to make it easier to move

around. It will be larger than our current cart so

that we can hold additional books. My vision

for the book mobile is that it will be so much easier to peruse the

books and make a selection. So when you see Ross, please tell

him thank you for his time.

Jim and I are taking a trip to Houston to visit my family at the

end of the month. When I return I plan to get busy in the Crane

Library itself. I have discussed the need to review and discard

books from the library with Dave and Lou, and they are in agree-

ment. I want to then check the remaining books to see if they are

correctly designated. Then I want to catalog all the remaining

books and reshelf them for easier access. So, if anyone has free

time on his or her hands, please let me know, because I could sure

use the help. I plan to work Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for

about 1-2 hours.

Once we have taken out the books that aren’t being used, I will

place them in Fellowship Hall so that if there is one that strikes

your fancy…it’s yours! They will stay there about a week and

then will be donated to various institutions around town. Dave

and Lou will have the final say on the books that we decide to

donate. It is kind of a “spring cleaning” so to speak.

It would be great if you can get any books that are checked out

back to the library by April 1, so that they can be included in the

review process. I think this will make the library easier to use

and enable you to look through the stacks and read more books,

which is the reason we have a library.

We also happily take donations. So if you have some books

that you aren’t using any more, you might consider a donation

to the Crane Library! And if you have any ideas for the type

of books you enjoy reading, please send me an email at

[email protected].

Well, by the time you read this article it will be SPRING!

YEA! Hope to see you in the library.

Cathy
