GHANA MEDICAL ASSOCIATION ELECTION OF NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS. (2019 - 2021) Dr. RICHARD WODAH-SEME I am a bearer of great aspirations and service to humanity is my hallmark. I have been committed to sacriicing my personal interest for the collective good of society. I am humble, respectful, approachable but above all, very decisive, bold, action oriented and assertive. I am seeking to leverage my management experience as a medical superintendent by helping the association during negotiations with our employers for better working conditions for our members. I envision that my dedicated and selless leadership will project GMA as an enviable association in Ghana and beyond. To me, this is a call to serve humanity. Educational Background I am a graduate of SMHS-UDS (Human Biology) and SMS-KNUST (MBChB). I have a certiicate in management from GIMPA. Currently a inal year resident in the family medicine modular program at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. Work/ leadership Experience My entire working career has been spent serving in deprived district hospitals in rural part of Northern Ghana. I have helped in creating a good impression of what a freshly graduated medical oficer can achieve if he/she accepts posting to deprive areas. As a medical superintendent, I helped build a cohort of younger doctors who came to accept working in district hospital as a fulilling experience. I have been the divisional chair for the Upper West Region since November 2014. In 2018, I was a member of the GMA annual lecture committee and successfully hosted the event for that year in my division. JUSTICE DUFFU YANKSON Esq. is a product of the University of Ghana Medical School, Accra, and St. Augustines College, Cape Coast. He works at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and a Part- Time Lecturer at the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. DR. YANKSON is also a Lawyer (Barrister at Law) with about 10 years of practice and experience at the Ghana Bar. He also read Finance (MBA) at the University of Ghana Business School and has a strong interest and expertise in Pensions, as well as Fund Management and Investment. Over my tenure as GMA Treasurer I have worked tirelessly to standardize the inancial management of the Association's funds and other resources. TITUS BEYUO Dr. Titus Beyuo is a Lecturer at the University of Ghana Medical School and a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital He is currently the Assistant General Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association and previously served the GMA in various capacities at both Divisional and National levels. He was Divisional Secretary of the Greater Accra Division of the GMA and the Representative of Junior Doctors on the National Council of GMA, serving two terms. He has also served on various committees of the Association such as the Negotiations Committee, the Public Lecture Committee and Editorial board of the Focus Magazine. He has discharged his assigned duties on these committees diligently. Dr. Beyuo has leadership experience spanning several years and at different levels. He is currently a senior Lecturer at KNUST School of Medical Science. He is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. He is a fellow and an examiner of both West Africa College of Surgeons and Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. DR. Ankobea is a barrister at law of the supreme court of Ghana and a member of the Ghana Bar Association. He is the current President of Ghana Medical Association, a position he has held for the past 2 years. In the past 2 years in ofice, Dr Ankobea has led a team which has secured 1. The implementation of free post graduate service for GMA members. 2. Free medical care for doctors beyond national health insurance. 3. Mortgage for accommodation for some GMA members 4. GMA house building project is on going 5. GMA land at Okponglo has been registered and the sword cutting for the project will soon take place 6.
