SERVING ST. PAUL TODAY:

SERVING ST. PAUL SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2:

PRAYER REQUESTS: John Manning (father of Susie Kleve),

Special Congregational Meeting: The Church Council of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sheldon, Iowa, has called for a Special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, December 9 at 10:15 a.m. in the church fellowship hall. Three questions will be brought to the floor for votes: 1. A vote will be held on whether or not to give the Church Council authority to sell the 1422 E. 9th Street property with adjusted property lines; 2. A vote will be held on whether or not to proceed with purchasing and installing a security system contingent on full funding; 3. A vote will be held on whether to approve the replacement of carpeting, flooring, and window treatments contingent on full funding.

There is a scheduled discussion forum regarding the Special Congregational Meeting: on Sundays, November 25 and December 2 at 4:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Please join us in the fellowship hall, following the worship service for coffee and cake to celebrate the 49th wedding anniversary of Harold and Jolene Eichmann.

We extend our Christian sympathy to Dee Tolk, Max and Mady, family and friends on the death of Dee’s mother, Marge Wood. She passed away on November 16. Her funeral service was held on November 21 in Spirit Lake.

We would like to thank the Council, Fellowship Committee, and all for the special coffee fellowship, cards, and kind words towards all of the St. Paul staff. It was greatly appreciated and we thank you. - St. Paul Staff

A big “Thank You” to the Sunday School youngsters who delivered fruit to our home last Sunday. It is very much appreciated. We also enjoyed hearing some of the things they have learned to memorize. The fruit is great and the kids were awesome!! - Carol and Frank Luepke

TODAY: Volunteers needed to help with baking for the Care Packages for St. Paul college students. If you would like to help with baking, please be at church to bake at 1:00 p.m.

Please join in the Christmas Decorating of the Church on Sunday, December 2, after the Worship service. Many hands make light work and the fellowship of the season is always wonderful. Looking forward to the wonders of the Advent and Christmas time of year! Thank you. - W.A.M.

NOTICE: The Secretaries’ Office Hours: November 28 and 29, will be 9:30-3:30 p.m.

There are a few 2018 Radio Broadcasts open (December 9, 16, and 30). If you would like to sponsor one, please contact the church office. To sponsor a broadcast it is $80.

The Sunday School Christmas Program is December 16, during the 9:00 a.m. Worship. Practices will be on December 2 and 9 during the Sunday School time. Please let Lori Brown know if your student(s) plan to participate.

The Christmas Eve Offering will go to: $100 Sheldon Unity Meal, $1,000 Camp Committee (Camperships), and the balance will go to the general fund. The New Year’s Eve Offering will go to the general fund.

Worship PowerPoint Set-up: One of the tasks in preparation for Sunday worship is creating the series of slides for the screen. Would anyone be willing to do this, perhaps 2 or 3 people taking turns? The templates are there, songs ready for ‘copy & paste’, mostly updating specific readings, page #s, etc. Talk to Pastor Craig to help.
