The late, great, Vince Lombardi, best known as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers during the 1960’s, led the team to five National Championships in seven years, including winning the first two Super Bowls, once said, “Winning isn’t everything...but wanting to win is.”The want to win is in all of us...and in the livestock industry, especially the seed stock industry, success is based on the quality of the product you exhibit. “In It To Win It” is Eastern Canada’s one stop depot to select from the finest Angus breeding stock assembled from leading breeders, with new “cutting edge” genetics for those who want to forge ahead

into new competitive levels. I had the opportunity to travel and select with Brad... this offering will make up one of the feature sale lineups in the nation! Whether you are looking for a show prospect, herd sire prospect or a foundation bred female, “the competitive, marketable kind” await you on October 11th.On the heels of a very successful sale in 2013, Gilchrist Farms went on to capture the prestigious Premier Breeder and Exhibitor awards at the Royal Winter Fair and “The Big E” (Eastern States Expo) confirming the assurance of the “In It To Win It” sale quality. There is no doubt that we are in exciting times in the livestock industry and there is no substitute for quality. Now is the time to rid yourself of “dead stock” which is worth double of a year ago and apply the funds to upgrading young fresh genetics, to ensuring the future of your herd.Plan to be with us at Gilchrist Farms for one of Canada’s feature sales. If we, at T Bar C, may be of any assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to give us a call.See you in Lucknow and be in it to win!

This is a moderate direct daughter of Final Answer and out of an 878 dam. With that pedigree, she is bred for calving ease and to be extremely maternal. She comes from a cow family that has worked really well for us here at Gilchrist Farms. We have retained a bull out of her grand dam that we intend to use and show next fall.

Natural service to Deer Park Tebow 5Z on April 15, 2014.

To be successful at any job you need to have the right tools, and in this business one of the tools is the bulls and females that you have to produce a marketable quality product. This female is exactly that; a high quality breeding tool that is capable of taking a program to a new level. GF Blackbird 4A is a maternal sister to GF Son In Law 4Z owned and promoted by Semex. Son In Law was one of Semex’s top ten bulls of all breeds in terms of doses sold for 2014. Not only does 4a have an impressive brother from a hard working dam she is truly an incredible individual herself with a BW 1.0 to YW 106 spread that is hard to match while maintaining superior phenotype.Exposed bred to Deer Park Tebow 5Z from April 15 to June 15, 2014.

Some of the most productive females that I have seen are out of Wallstreet. Not only does he carry the power of his sire Networth, but Wallstreet will keep his females looking like females. This bred heifer is sure to impress; she is one stout made, feminine fronted female. Her dam has done an outstanding job for us. Maternal brother to lot 5 this bull calf has all the right lines needed for a great herd sire. Big hipped, long fronted and soft enough to keep feed efficiency in your calf crop. His dam didn’t come with EPDs, so his numbers in my opinion don’t reflect what he is capable of doing for your program. This is one that is one of the best bulls we have raised over the years and has a ton of potential.

We purchased her dam last year through this sale as a bred heifer from Paradise Farms and the result of investing in good cattle couldn’t have turned out better. In the few years I have been raising and breeding cattle, I have found that cattle from specific breeders have always worked hard and bred well for us once we have purchased them. One of those breeders is Gary Harron; every an-imal we got from Gary or had the Harron prefix in the pedigree always worked hard and bred well for us. This Final Answer daughter might be the best one of all of them. We picked her up in his dispersal sale as a bred heifer and since then, she has raised productive profitable calves. My breeding philosophy is simple; analyze a cow for what she is; analyze a bull for what he is and blend both strengths and weakness to generate superior offspring. Here we took raw power, performance and growth and combined it with a moderate, feminine, calving ease dam and the result is a great combination of power and angularity.

Prices today in the beef industry are absolutely incredible and its about time for the cattleman and women in this country to reap the rewards. 500 weight calves touching $3 per pound was unheard of before this summer. There are two ways to get more money out of a cow, one is heavier calves and the other is more of them. This three year old has calved in twice and had twins that she raised on her own both times, pretty impressive if you ask me and not only two calves, these two are capable of going to town!Exposed bred to C & C Mc Intosh 2038 on May 19, 2014.

Produced by a flush, McIntosh is one of the stoutest, most correct bulls of the flush and is our pick of the brothers that now call Canada home. McKinley is a full brother who sold in Express Ranches sale for $255,000 for one half interest this past spring. Sired by Dameron First Class, McIntosh is breeding similar to his sire adding eye appeal, bone and keeping enough performance in the progeny to go out and compete. There will be two outstanding heifer calves on display sale day and just so you can see both sexes, a couple bull calves sell at their dam’s side. A few years ago I went to Kelly Schaffs and brought home two heifers; the dam of this calf being one of them. The dam of this heifer S A V ELBA 7005 is a donor in our program. 7005 is actually a maternal sister to S A V ELBA 7021 who is the dam of S A V POTENTIAL 0205 a Genex stud bull and part of Johnson Livestock program. 2B has 3 full siblings in our herd and multiple maternal sisters. Last year we were fortunate enough to raise and exhibit the Reserve Champion Senior Yearling Heifer at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. As luck would have it, during an incredibly bad snow storm with closed roads she calved successfully and yielded a Consensus heifer calf. This heifer calf is a footprint of her mom as a calf. The pedigree of Bismarck and Consensus is a show stopper as we anticipate the circuit this fall. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words and I think above tells the story of this cow family. DEER PARK 1B Female BW: 78 lbs. 1777022 DPAF 1B January 15, 2014

EPDS BW WW YW MILK TMPE 5.2 58 99 30 59

It is with great excitement we are offering the opportunity to purchase heifer calves from the top of our 2014 calf crop. The first being Lot Deer Park Edam 1B a full sibling to Brantnor’s Edam 16X who was named Reserve Cham-pion Female in the 2011 Royal Winter Fair Junior Heifer Show for Brad MacIntyre. Like 16X, Edam 1B has been a stand out since birth. She is far and away the most powerful heifer calf we have ever raised and has the look that made her sister, 16X such a favourite. The second lot on choice; Deer Park Jestress 2B is the direct daughter of LLB Jestress 44W who we purchased in the 2013 “In it to Win It” sale. The mating to Net Worth did not disappoint; 2B is equally as impressive as Edam 1B in terms of her dimension, power and look. We are offering these heifers on choice as either has a bright future ahead of them for their new owners while allowing us to retain elite genetics to continue to build our herd around.

EPDS BW WW YW MILK TM PE 4.2 48 89 26 51

Offering choice on these two ET heifer calves. These calves were bought out of the inaugural “In It To Win It” Sale as an embryo package, right after their dam, Mercedes 2U sold to Blairs. Ag for $10,000.00. Whether your thing is pedigrees or whether it’s phenotype, these two heifers have them both. With the now deceased and legend, S A V Net Worth 4200 on the top side with EXT, 3000C and donor 13N all on the bottom. Have the last bid on sale day so you can have your pick because I’m happy to take the other one home for the front pasture next year.

Here is a heifer that won’t disappoint. She’ll fit into any herd and do a great job. This is a very feminine, deep sided, lots of natural thickness, length of body and is a moderate frame size. Heifer that really stands out in a group.
