Staffing Changes For 2013 Next year will see several staffing changes. Ms Maher will be taking up a position at Lowther Hall for 12 months. We wish her all the best as this will be a wonderful learning experience for her. They are very fortunate to get such a wonderful teacher. Mrs Joiner and Mrs Chapman will be on leave for 12 months, Ms Ring will return next year to do CRT work at the school . I wish all these teachers the very best for next year. Mrs DeSouza has retired after being on leave for 12 months. We thank her for her many years of service at the school and hope that she enjoys her well-earned retirement.
As a consequence we have employed four new teachers, Mr Scott Woolcock, Miss Perri Alifrigas, Miss Jessica Johnson and Miss Victoria Borg. All four are currently visiting classrooms to become familiar with our teaching structures followed by an induction session. We welcome these new teachers to the Gladstone Views family and I know the community will embrace and support them.
The staff has spent many hours in discussing the formation of grades for next year. The process is both complex and challenging. The grade structure aims to accommodate the
academic, social and behavioral needs of all students including those with special learning needs. There also needs to be a balance of males and females where possible. To develop a structure that suits everyone is an impossibility. The grade structure and teachers will be published in the next newsletter.
Have a great week Michael West

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL
CARE
Another great year is coming to an end and we
farewell Natasha, Shin and Josh who have been
regular users since prep. Thank you to all our
parents and students for making 2012 such an
overall great year. Deb and l are very proud of the
displays our children have produced around the
school and the great results all our grade 1/2
students achieved in spelling after regular
homework in our program.
All parents are reminded that new forms for 2013
Enrolments are available from our room or the
School Office. These forms must be completed
each year to ensure that we have current contact
details and accurate medical information. Please
complete and return forms to us by Monday 17
December.
As school finishes at 1.30pm on the last day
(Friday 21st Dec.) please book children in early if
you are going to use the program as we will be
unable to take more than 30 students on the final
day. We would like students to be collected by
5.30 pm if possible, as we have to pack all
equipment up and move furniture.
Thanks to all our families and have a great break.
