CROSS COUNTRY
We are grateful for this position of a
Stevens house captain. Do you know why
we are grateful? Because we won! We
are especially grateful for winning the
school cross country of 2021. Our
Stevens team did very well in cross
country, we wouldn’t have been able to
do it without the other teams cheering
and their support. We would like to thank the
staff for making all of this happen by setting
the course and providing ribbons for all of the
kids. Also, we would like to thank the parents
for supporting the children and giving them
good advice. Furthermore, thanks to Ross for
making the grass look excellent for us to run on and
making the lines look fantastic. Thank you to our
team for listening and doing what they were told
amazingly. Everyone also took great care
of the their house areas and kept it
clean and tidy.
By Freya, Ollie,
Hunter and Naoani.

CROSS COUNTRY
.
LEST WE FORGET
On Friday the 23rd, Glenview school gathered in the hall to celebrate Anzac Day. The senior band proudly played the national anthem to begin the commemorative Service, then the senior choir with soloists Freya and James on Guitar performed "Can you hear Australia's hero's marching". There was plenty of red poppies and rosemary worn to mark the occasion. Overall, the morning was a very fitting tribute to show our thanks to all our country's service men, women, and animals! Both past and present for their brave service, fighting for our country's freedom. Max and Alexis (Music Captains)

One sunny morning in the ocean there was a
kind and helpful dolphin. One day there was a
turtle, but the turtle was so sad that nothing
could make him happy.
Then the dolphin smiled, but that didn’t work.
Then the dolphin had an idea. She invited the
turtle to her birthday party.
It made the turtle sooo HAPPY!
He was never sad again.
GROUP D WRITER AWARD
Dear Glenview families,
The best gift any parent can give a child is the love of books and the joy and benefits of independent
reading for fun.
This term our school is participating in Scholastic Book Club.
Class teachers, gave out the Issue 3 Book Club catalogue this
week for your child to take home.
It is easy to order. The Book Club loop platform for parents
allows you to pay by credit card. The child’s order is submitted
directly to our school and the books will be delivered to their
class. You can place your child’s order at scholastic.com.au/loop
or by using the LOOP app, which can be downloaded from the

Our lovely Susan who works in the office at Glenview State School has participated in two Endeavour Rally’s (2018 & 2019) with her crew Amanda from Wild Horse Turf and Sonia from Go Turf. The Kenny’s Angel team name, was coined a few years ago when they saw Kenny Rogers at the Gympie Music Muster. The trio have lots of fun on their rallies, but they have chosen this rally, in particular, because as mothers they truly believe in the foundation’s approach to helping people with disabilities to live fulfilling lives. All the money raised goes towards ensuring those with a disabilities can have independence, choice, control and inclusion. In 2019 the Endeavour Rally raised $350,000 to use virtual reality training to help people living with a disability practise day to day activities in a safe environment. The team in 2020 was due to go on the Simpson Desert Adventure travelling from St George to Charleville via Cameron Corner, Innamincka, Poeppel Corner and Birdsville. Due to Covid this has been rescheduled for 5-14 August 2021 and we can’t wait to kick off our fundraising. The focus of this year’s fundraising is Thrive Learning program – a growing library of carefully created and curated digital learning video and resources. The creation of this library came about during COVID isolation, where the Foundation worked to find a new way to deliver training to clients at home. The video learning program has the added benefit of making learning repeatable and accessible for people with intellectual disability wherever they are, or whatever they hope to achieve in life. For a person with an intellectual disability, understanding such skills and concepts can take more time, patience, and guidance, but it’s possible with these new learning resources - ones that make the process repeatable, engaging, and fun. Better still, the program is available to all Endeavour clients - not just those able to attend in-person training.
