Accredited GFSI Certification Programs TÜV SÜD America offers a number of Global Food Safety Initiative-accredited certification services. The main standards available in the USA are: • Safe Quality Food (SQF) • British Retail Consortium (BRC) • FSSC 22000 We can also provide other GFSI and non-GFSI certification via TÜV SÜD Global utilizing our global network of approved auditors: GFSI certification • IFS • Global GAP Non-GFSI certification • ISO 9001 • ISO 22000 SQF © SQF Institute 2012. SQF is the only GFSI Standard that offers a seamless approach to a “Field to Fork” supply chain certifica- tion philosophy, providing for primary production, food manufacture and distribution. The old SQF 1000 and SQF 2000 have been amalgamated into one standard with a modularized approach that takes effect on July 1, 2012. Module 2, System Elements forms the backbone of the new SQF code ed 7 and when combined with a category-specific module, provides a product-specific audit. The SQF code uses HACCP principles and is designed to meet the requirements applied to primary producers, food manufacturers, processors, traders, and distributors. There are three levels: • Level 1 - Food Safety Fundamentals • Level 2 - Certified HACCP Food Safety Plan(s) and, • Level 3 - Food Safety and Quality plan(s) - Quality Plan is based on the same HACCP principles used to develop the Food Safety Plan(s). BRC Institute of Packaging (IOP) Packaging and Packaging MaterialsBRC and IOP have partnered to develop a techni-cal standard focused on the manufacturers of food packaging materials that are intended for use with retail brands. The standard is intended to cover food and cosmetics.

BRC Storage and DistributionThis module is designed to help companies involved in: the storage and distribution of food, consumer products, and packaging materials; wholesalers; contract service providers for pre-packaged products.

FSSC 22000FSSC 22000 certification of food safety systems is achieved by combining ISO 22000 plus PAS 220:2008 - Prerequisite programs on food safety for food manufacturing. It was developed to cover the food chain and encompasses the processing or manufacturing of animal products, perishable vegetal products, products with a long shelf life, (other) food ingredients like additives, vitamins, bio-cultures, and food packaging material manufacturing. FSSC 22000 can also accom-modate packaging manufacturers by utilizing Publically Available Specification PAS 223:2011 - Prerequisite programs and design requirements for food safety in the manufacture and provision of food packaging.
