Dell Networking is about being OPEN. Using OpenSource technology, we’re delivering open architectures built on Open Standards. #1 Building Blocks - #1 in Servers and Storage WW // You need to look back to what Michel Dell did 37 years ago. Saw PC’s being sold for $6000 and thought, “I can do this, and make moneyt at half the price” He commoditized the PC. He did the same for servers, doing the same to Storage and for the last four years doing the same to networking. The world is moving towards being Software Defined, and it needs Building Blocks, with Enterprise grade support. #2 Force 10 – in 2011 Michael bought Force10 to accelerate Dell into the Networking arena, and developed into the #3 Networking vendor around the world. If you’re looking for traditional CLI and Campus platforms, thenour OS6 and OS9 platforms are what our customers uses #3 OpenNetworking – We made a shift towards ON in 2013. We announced that all of our DC grade switches would support the ONIE environment, we’ve been partnering with BigSwitch, Cumulus, Pluribus and IPInfusion to provide business outcomes to customers network challenges. We don’t have a thousand models of switch to choose from // simply 1 to 100GbE ON switches with Enterprise Grade Support around the world. We’re also delivering our new OS10, linux based Operating System that can come with Enterprise features and support, or free to support the DevOps ecosystem. #4 Hybrid Cloud – dependent on the customer appetite , we have different options to support Hybrid On Premises Cloud Platforms. Platinum level partnerships with all the key Cloud Platforms, with over 50% of all hybrid platforms deployed across Dell hardware. #5 NFV – with the advent of 5G and Networks Function Virtualisation, we’ve been working with customers around the world on deploying virtualized network functions across x86 compute platforms, including SD-WAN technology from SilverPeak, Nokia Nuage, Versa and Riverbed. #6 Network Virtualisation – our sister company, VMWare has NSX for the microsegmentation of network workloads, but if you’re not wedded to the Vmware world, then we work with Nuage or Midokura #7 Management, Orchestration and Automation – working with leading vendors, we enable our platforms Our Priorities #8 We are primarily an Infrastructure company.
