Solar power is becoming increasingly popular with individuals, corporate andgovernments. The main benefit of solar energy that it can be easily deployed by bothhome and business users as it does not require any huge set up like in case of wind andgeothermal power stations. Solar energy not only benefits individual owners, but alsobenefit environment as well. Solar energy also benefits the environment - it does notpollute the earth the way other energy sources do and it is silent. Solar energy is clean, reliable and renewable source of electricity. It does not pollute the air by releasingharmful gases like carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide and sulphur oxide. Solar energy doesnot require and fuel and thus avoid the problems of transportation of fuel or the storageof radioactive waste.

As solar energy gains prominence in India and across the globe, we thought it the righttime to catch up with Kunwer Sachdeva Founder & MD, Su-Kam Power Systems acompany driven by innovations. Popularly addressed as the `Inverter man of IndiaKunwer created the first ever R&D center in the power back up industry. He is nowconcentrating on the solar market.

We have also focused on Climate Change. According to the 2015 Climate ChangePerformance Index (CCPI) report, after China and the US, India is the worlds thirdlargest producer of the greenhouse gas emissions causing climate change although it isresponsible for only about 6% of such emissions globally. The CCPI, put out by GermanWatch and the Climate Action Network feels India has fared well - India has climbed fivespots and is ranked 31st in the CCPI table.

For mobiles and tablets India is one of the most potential markets. Costing is a majorfactor and keeping that in mind many Indians have ventured into the manufacturingsegment. Few have tasted success as consumers are price sensitive but also would like tohave good quality. Understanding this specific combination reasonable price with goodquality Swipe Telecom has been quite successful in the Indian market. We e - interactedwith Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe Telecom.
