A word from Nicky

I am proud to present you with the P3 service Impact Report for Gloucestershire Accommodation Based Services. We have been operating now in Cheltenham & Gloucester for two and a half years and during this time we have worked in partnership with various stakeholders to build some positive relationships to set a solid foundation for the future.

The dedication and passion of the team has surpassed expectations and everyone has worked together to create a safe and supportive environment for our clients when they are at their most chaotic and vulnerable. We think creatively to find solutions and break down social exclusion with some of the most hard to reach clients. We have been successful when all other options have failed.

The team will always guide and encourage clients to take the first steps towards their future by supporting them to make positive changes in their life that they have identified themselves.

I hope that you will see from reading this, how we have impacted on the local communities within Cheltenham & Gloucester and share our passion for making a real difference to people’s lives.

Listen to Colin talk about his experience with P3 here.

As a professional bass guitar player, I had gone from performing in front of thousands of people, to becoming homeless. Society looked and treated me a lot differently.

My band was quite successful, reaching the top 40’s in the UK, but when the music died down, I found myself sleeping on the streets with no where to go.

P3 were like a heaven for me, when you had lost everything, they were there for you. P3 came to the rescue for me. They look out for you and look after your needs and do the best they can. They really do care.

I now live in my own flat and am living a more independent life, but know P3 are there for support if and when I need it.

Listen to Amy talk about her experience with P3 here.

I’ve been homeless for a while, using drugs on a daily basis after my brother and best friend passed away. I had ill health due to taking Ketamine every day and was constantly depressed.

I went to my local authority who advised me to get in touch with P3. Since being here, my life has changed around. I didn’t really know what was going on with my life, but now I haven’t taken a single drug since coming to P3 and I feel so much healthier and better.

They helped me with my debts setting up payment plans and a number of counselling sessions such as bereavement counselling and cognitive behaviour therapy. I didn’t even know half of these things existed.

Staff are so friendly, and they know what they are talking about and I feel safe here. I would advise anyone who needs help to get in touch with P3.

Listen to Chris talk about his experience with P3 here.

I joined the Gloucestershire regiment straight after school and got promoted and ended up as a Sargeant. Due to bad health I became a house husband after 10 years.

Life was idyllic for me, I couldn’t want for anything really, but this all changed when my relationship broke down and I found myself with no where to go.

I felt like I was having a meltdown. I rang P3 to get some help, and from there I was told to get on a bus and I would have a roof over my head that night. A couple of days later I moved into P3 housing and it transformed my life.

P3 have given me confidence again, they have helped, they have listened and they have advised. I don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t of made that phone call.

NGP3 worked with the Nelson Trust on a voluntary basis to support a very complex client to support informal engagement around her addiction and sex work. As a result, the client has remained in the family unit and is doing well.

P3 worked with the Hub Gloucestershire for recovery and Narcotics Anonymous to play a 5 a side recovery football tournament. Clients got to meet people who had similar addictions and overcame these.

P3 negotiated with the reduction in a former tenant arrears with London Borough council so the client could return to a local connection.

P3 worked positively with the Mental Health Team to secure appropriate housing for a client who had 3 years of failed tenancies.

Several clients now volunteer at the Gloucestershire Recovery hub after inviting the manager to do a workshop. This gave another community resource to connect with.

ES Looking to the future

We will continue to be innovative about creating partnerships to the benefits of individuals. We will develop an agency steering group with joining working protocols... Your opinion counts.

We will continue to be passionate about delivering long-term change for individuals and communities for the better.

We will design and grow our service in partnerships with people who matter... Consult and deliver.

We are determined to tackle problems that others won’t. We always go the extra mile and work with dedication and commitment.

Our vision is that every person has the opportunity to be a full and valued member of a society where social exclusion and isolation no longer exist. It’s that simple!

Until that day comes we’ll continue to look to support more people, in more areas. To do this we’ll continue to develop our team of talented staff and volunteers. Most of all, we’ll continue to work with PEOPLE to unlock their POTENTIAL and open up new POSSIBILITIES.
