This session looks at what is needed to implement a “pro-wind policy”. What needs to be done with respect to investments, the development of grids, feed-in-tariffs or regulation to enable wind power production to grow significantly in the coming years?

This panel session will examine how wind power technology will develop over the coming decade to make it the most cost-effective of all power technologies. Panellists will discuss how the industry needs to innovate to benefit from greater economies of scale and to identify the specific technological needs for developing large-scale wind production. What needs to be done to promote the concept of decentralised power production?

Despite nagging uncertainty in the European financial sector, 2010 saw creative solutions for financing clean energy projects. New sources of debt and equity were developed by banks and arrangers of finance and added to the array of financial structures to keep capital flowing. This panel of representatives of several wind parks with different financing patterns will examine the current state of play for wind energy projects and how the next generation of policies and financing options will affect development.
