Introduction
The UK is now one of the most wired-up countries in the world and UKbusinesses are ranked amongst the most sophisticated users of I T.
The Government has long recognised the importance of embracing theknowledge economy and has set challenging targets for governmentonline services . The range of online services offered by government departments arecomparable with the best world wide but the rates of adoption arerelatively low .
Businesses and taxpayers who interact electronically on a day to daybasis, with their customers, or in the course of their work or personallives, are less inclined to change the way they deal with thegovernment agencies . (Kables online, 2010 issue)
