Happy Easter, Couts family!
What a wonderful Easter celebration
we had together! These holy days
were certainly blessed as we felt the
presence of the Risen Christ in our
midst. And for those of you that
invited friends and family, thank
you! We hope to see them again
soon!
This month, we are in the midst of
our new sermon series, “I Want to
Believe, But…”. In the weeks to
come, we will be exploring many of
the reasons that people give for not
believing in God. Let’s not fool our-
selves. These same reasons are given
by many believers in moments of
doubt and hardship. So I hope you
will join us this month as we worship
together and work hard to deepen our
faith.
There are two important things
happening this month that I want to
highlight. First of all, our
Wednesday night worship will be
continuing throughout the
summer. We will be starting a new
Wednesday series called, “At the
Movies.” Beginning on May 15, our
Wednesday schedule will
change. On most Wednesdays of the
month, you can bring you dinner with
you and eat in the Fellowship
Hall. On the last Wednesdays of the
month, snack supper will be offered
as usual. Worship will begin at 6:00
pm, and Bible studies will
follow. On the last Wednesday of the
month, we will watch the movie that
we have talked about in the previous
weeks. Here is our movie line-up for
the summer:
· Aladdin
· The Lion King
· Toy Story
Frozen
We hope that you take the time to in-
vite your friends and families to these
movie nights as we explore together
how God speaks to us through these
films.
Secondly, there are many events go-
ing on at Couts Christian Academy as
classes come to an end this
month. Please find a way to volunteer
or attend some of these events to sup-
port our precious students and teach-
ers. Come let them know how proud
we are of them for the amazing year
that they have had. What a blessing
they are to our church!
As you plan your summer activities,
please remember two things. If you
need to miss a Sunday, feel free to
come on Wednesday nights for a
shorter worship service. Stay in love
with God this summer. Come to
church and stay charged up with Holy
Spirit. Also, as you plan how you are
financially supporting the church,
remember that you can set up auto-
matic drafts via your bank or our
online payment vendor so that you
don’t miss your chance to give in
gratitude to God. If you need help
setting that up, please contact the
church office and we can walk you
through how to do it.
It’s going to be a wonderful summer
of mission and ministry here at Couts
UMC and I hope you find a way to be
involved. It takes ALL of us to and
ALL of our gifts to make this body of
Christ function. I can’t wait to serve
God with you in the weeks ahead!
Blessings,
Pastor Marilyn

Labor for Your Neighbor Sunday
Sunday, May 5th
Couts has designated Sunday, May 5th as a special day to get everyone involved in
Missions / Labor for Your Neighbor in some way. We will have worship at the regular
time of 10:30 a.m.. Some groups will work during Sunday School, take a break to
attend worship at 10:30 am and pick back up after the worship service. We hope that
each person will pick one of the areas and volunteer to serve. The areas included are:
Yard Work and Paint Prep @ 310 Edna Street, painting the gym restrooms, cleaning
the sanctuary closets, yard work at Karen Salyer’s home, cleaning the gym storage
closets, painting handicap parking spaces, making sandwiches for workers, and writ-
ing notes for youth and adults going on the CTCYM Mission Trip. Please call the
church office to sign up to help in one of the designated areas.
