Green Team

Our Prime Moto is “GREEN, PRISTINE, DISCIPLINE”

Environment consciousness and tree plantation is the major concern of the

management to maintain the pristine purity and beauty of the college. IQAC, in its

regular meetings, has been re-iterating regularly the importance, criticality and

usefulness of the green audit. The college has eco-friendly environment. The college

undertakes various activities relating to Environment Consciousness in the college

campus. Dr. Nirmala Kelamani, Dr.S G Ghatpanadi Dr.Shailaja Hiremath, Dr. Lata

Karekall, Sri Sadique, and Sri Shankara Goud, Sri Saidappa were invited for

demonstration about gardening.

Principal and Faculty pay visits to Unique Trees at Hyderabad and other famous

local and other city gardens. Our esteemed Alumni have donated plants. More than

25 Medicinal plants like Tulsi, Curry leaves, Aloe-vera, Asafoetida Amla etc have

been planted in the college campus to instil awareness about Herbal and Medicinal

plants use. The use of plastic bags is avoided in the campus. We are planning to

make the entire campus as “No Plastic Zone’.

After the introduction of TQM in our institution we set up a team called “GREEN

TEAM” which consisted of group members from the teaching and administrative

staff, support staff and eminent people from horticulture fraternity. Garden

committee was renamed as Green Team from 2013-14.

Our college follows a culture of presenting saplings (in place of flowers/bouquets) to

guests and experts invited in the college. In the last five years our institution has

planted saplings within the premises and outside. This has helped to accelerate our

green initiatives. The institution often organizes tree-plantation & maintenance

programmes in and outside the campus. These planted trees are also maintained

carefully by the college.
