For those of you who come into the surgery Lisa has now clocked up thirty years at Whitefi eld Dental Practice. She currently works three days a week as our dental assistant. She is the lady you see assisting Dr Qureshi when you come in for treatment.

She started work at Whitefi eld Dental straight from school, when she was almost 16 years old.

Lisa also works for a dental agency and has worked for over thirty different dental surgeries. I enjoy my agency work as it gives me an opportunity to see how different surgeries and their dental teams work.

As well as having a busy time at the surgery, Lisa’s home life has become very busy over the last twelve months: My youngest daughter Elle celebrated her 18th birthday and started University at Durham, training to be a teacher. My oldest daughter Charlotte had her 21st birthday – she is at Sheffi eld University studying to be a Doctor.

Lisa has enjoyed working at Whitefi eld Dental Practice over the last 30 years saying that she fi nds working with the previous owner – Dr Simon and Dr Qureshi enjoyable and satisfying.

Outside of work Lisa loves to read - she goes nowhere without a book and she try’s very hard to keep fi t – she goes to the gym and swimming each week. Lisa goes with her friend who she met at antenatal classes 21 years ago!

Something else you may not know about her is that she loves musicals and travels to London’s West End a couple of times a year to see the latest productions.

APPOINTMENTSIf you are fi nding it hard to make appointments during the day with work commitments and busy lives why not drop us an email on dentist@whitefi elddentalpractice.co.uk give us an idea of times, dates or days that would be best and Carol, Dawn or Lisa will try to arrange an appointment to suit.

We are also bringing the surgery up to date with Facebook and twitter so if you have either of those why not follow us as daily offers and info on the practice are posted on both. We are also trying to help the environment and cut costs by using text and emails as reminders for appointments but for those of you who like to receive a letter don’t worry we won’t be getting rid of our postal reminders.

Q: What did the judge say to the dentist? A: Do you swear to pull the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth?

The practice will be closed on 8th & 9th August and from Friday 23rd August to Tuesday 2nd September.

We can provide emergency cover during this time. Patients requiring emergency treatment should contact the surgery on 0161 766 6164.

Practice Plan Members who need to see a dentist in an emergency or while they are away on holiday, will be expected to pay for any treatment or consultations carried out but keep the receipts and you may be able to claim it back with practice plan.

You will need to bring the receipts into the surgery and we will fi ll in any paperwork for you and if you can claim it back then Practice plan will do a BACS transfer into your account.

Many Thanks for those of you who fi lled out our patient survey’s in the practice.

Following the survey one of the ideas that was mentioned was to provide patients with the latest product information so we are pleased to be of assistance.
