Trikes
Trike Course As the popularity of Trikes grew GWRRA saw a need for a Trike Course. First course was introduced in 2003. Trikes give our aging members an opportunity to continue to ride.
It also gives an opportunity for the Ladies to rides their own Trikes.
Trike Course The Trike course has become very popular with our member. Half of our Riding Courses are for Trike Riders. Advance Rider Course is the next most popular.
Trike Course Three hours of class room <Mental skills. <Riding a motorcycle is 90% mental and 10% physical. <To be Proactive in scanning Four hours of range time <11 range exercises <Practice the skills of turning <Swerving and braking.
Trike Course
Most of our member ride two-up. We encourage Co-Riders to take part in our Riding Courses 2-up. We feel it is important for the co-rider know what the rider is doing and why!
Trike Course <We coach the rider and the co-rider in both in the classroom and on the range. <Show them how to Ride as a Team. -Extra set of eyes -Rear view mirrors. -Head check when changing lanes -How to brace for a quick stop.
Evaluation Forms At the end of each class the Instructors have all of the Students fill out an evaluation form. -Class Room Portion -Range Portion -Instructor -Monitor comments, forward to National -A tool to measure how we are doing.
Illinois and GWRRA have partnered together to offer the GWRRA Trike course. One of the First States to do so. Other states have shown interest or are doing pilot courses. We would like your Provide feed back.
How do we get our members to take a Riding Course, Seminars, First Aid. -Keep Rider Education in the forefront. -Talks-- by the Chapter Educator at Chapter monthly meetings. -Monthly Newsletter articles-- by Chapter, District, Region, National Educators. Peer Pressure from other Members
