BEST OF BREED COMPETITION

The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record.

Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships

are unconfirmed. The entry and showing of dogs whose championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from

the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a championship according to the owner’s records. If, at the

end of the 90 day period, the championship of a dog has not been confirmed by AKC, no further entries of the dog for Best of

Breed competition are to be made until its championship has been confirmed by AKC.

GRAND CHAMPION SELECT

When quality warrants, after Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex are awarded, a Select Dog (SD) and Select Bitch (SB)

may be chosen from the remaining Champions (Non Regular Class winners that are Champions and Qualify for BOB are

eligible) - (WD or WB are not eligible) (AKC Dog Show Rules, Chapter 3, Section 14, Effective 5-12-10)

JUDGES AWARD OF MERIT

At the Judge’s discretion up to 2 Dogs and 2 Bitches, which best exemplify the breed’s characteristics, may be awarded an

Award of Merit. Judging eligibility for receiving an Award of Merit will include all dogs entered in Best of Breed competition,

Winners Dog and Bitch, the first place Veteran Dog and Bitch from each division but excluding Best of Breed and Best of

Opposite Sex. GSRC themed trophy and Hunter Green and Maroon Rosettes will be awarded.

NOVICE CLASS ELIGIBILITY

The Novice Class shall be for dogs six months of age and over, which have not, prior to the date of closing of entries, won

three first prizes in the Novice Class, a first prize in Amateur-Owner-Handler, Bred-by-Exhibitor, American-bred, or Open

Classes, nor one or more points toward their championships.

BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS ELIGIBILITY

All dogs entered in the Bred-By Exhibitor Class must be individually registered with the AKC. The person handling the dog

must be a breeder of record of the dog and an owner of record of the dog. Family members must be both a breeder and owner

of record to exhibit in the class. Best Bred-By Exhibitor will be selected from the Bred-By-Exhibitor winners following the

judging of Best of Breed & Award of Merit Competition. Only dogs not defeated in the Bred-By-Exhibitor Class are eligible to

compete.

BEST VETERAN DOG & BEST VETERAN BITCH CLASS ELIGIBILITY

Best Veteran Dog & Best Veteran Bitch will be selected from the Veteran Class winners following the judging of Best of Breed

& Award of Merit Competition. Only dogs not defeated in a Veteran Class are eligible to compete.

NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING SINGLE DOG ENTRIES

NOTE: Winners from these classes are eligible, if undefeated in another class for Best of Breed Competition.

Veteran Dogs I / Veteran Bitches I A class for dogs and a class for bitches 7 years of age and under 10 years of age

Veteran Dogs II / Veteran Bitches II

A class for dogs and a class for bitches 10 years of age and over *Chapter 11, Section 8: of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that a neutered male may be entered as a Veteran Dog in

the Veteran Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Veteran Bitch in the Veteran Bitch Class.” NON-REGULAR CLASSES INVOLVING MULTIPLE DOG ENTRIES

NOTE: As the judges' decision in these classes will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the

dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won

any of these classes.

* STUD DOG CLASS - For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. It is not necessary that the Get be under the same ownership as that of

the Stud Dog. The Stud Dog may be entered separately in one of the regular classes, or if a Champion of Record, in the Best of

Breed Competition, but MUST be entered in the Stud Dog Class. The Get MUST be entered in one of the regular conformation

classes or for Best of Breed Competition. No Stud Dog or his Get may be shown as a part of another unit. The Stud Dog shall be

considered as one entry and requires one entry fee. The Stud Dog must be shown in the ring with the Get. The class will be judged

on the merits of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must

be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC

Policy, or the standard for its breed. Stud Dog Class fee is $35 as an original class or $25 as an additional class.

* BROOD BITCH CLASS - Same as for the Stud Dog Class except substitute “Brood Bitch” for “Stud Dog” and “Produce” for

“Get.”

* Chapter 11, Section 8: of the “Rules Applying to Dog Shows” provides that “a castrated male may be entered as a Stud Dog in the

Stud Dog Class and a spayed bitch may be entered as a Brood Bitch in the Brood Bitch Class.”

All entries in Puppy Sweepstakes MUST be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty. Entry shall be made at the same time and on the same entry form as for Regular Classes. Indicate your sweepstakes class with the age in space provided for “Additional Classes”. ENTRY FEE for the Puppy Sweepstakes shall be $20.00, plus the entry fee for the Regular Class.

Entries in the Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty. Bitches or dogs entered in Veteran Sweepstakes which are spayed or neutered may also be entered in regular classes in the Specialty Show, but are not required to do so. ENTRY FEE for the Veteran Sweepstakes shall be $20.00. Entry shall be made at the same time and on the same entry form as for Regular Classes. Indicate your Veterans Sweepstake Class with the age in the space provided for “Additional Classes”.

ATTENTION EXHIBITORS

In order to preserve the grass at California State University Long Beach, please NO MATS or other devices that

cover the grass. We appreciate your cooperation to help maintain this outstanding show site.

GROOMING All grooming must be done under the grooming tents or.pop-up tents which will be allowed in designated areas. No crates, carts with crates, grooming tables, exercise pens or canopies will be allowed in the aisles. These setups

are to be in designated areas only. ABSOLUTELY no grooming allowed in the day-of-show parking lot.

Due to limitation of space, handlers and exhibitors may be required to limit the number of exercise pens in the

grooming area.

GENERATORS THERE IS NO POWER ON THE SHOW GROUNDS. BRING YOUR OWN GENERATOR. No generators

are allowed to be operated within 60' of any show ring after the start of judging and until all judging has been completed.

Show sites are becoming more difficult to obtain as are accommodations that will accept dogs. The Long Beach

Kennel Club and the Kennel Club of Beverly Hills ask your cooperation in cleaning up after yourselves and your

dogs. Exhibitors are reminded that they are responsible for cleaning up their own grooming area.

RESERVED GROOMING SPACE

RESERVED GROOMING TENTS Reserved grooming space is available for $70.00 per 10X10 foot space for the entire weekend June 24-25-26, 2016 at California State University at Long Beach (CSULB). Reserved grooming spaces will be reserved from Thursday, June 23 after 2 PM thru Sunday, June 26, 2016. The re-served grooming space is limited and available until sold out.

All reserved grooming spaces will be under the provided grooming tents. No electricity will be provided. Exhibitors and/or handlers are responsible to provide their own generators. The Long Beach Kennel Club, Kennel Club of Beverly Hills, Great Western Terrier Association, Southern California Sporting Dog Fanciers and all specialty breed clubs associated with the 3 days of events (June 24-25-26, 2016) at CSULB, club members or service providers assume no responsibility for damage/theft of items or injury to dogs or people at the show. All exercise pens and generators must be placed outside of the reserved grooming tents and X-pens placed adjacent to the grooming tents MUST not block aisle or access to grooming spaces. Please remember to keep your space clean and the grooming tents will be checked each night for cleanliness. NO MATS are allowed on the grass. The collaborative kennel clubs reserve the right to make all decisions concerning assignment of the reserved grooming spaces.

NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS

1. Entries must reach the Show Secretary, Doris Bandoian, 1220 N. Richfield Rd., Anaheim, CA 92807-1812, by NOON, Wednesday, June 08, 2016. Fees should accompany entries. The Club and the Show Secretary as-sume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. The Club and the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner’s agent entering a dog in a class in which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice.

2. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The CLUB will add a collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring.

3. Exhibitors’ confirmations and judging programs will be mailed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within a reasonable time prior to the show, notify the Show Secretary. Confirmations returned by the Post Office marked “Undeliverable” will be held at the Show Secretary’s office. PLEASE BRING YOUR CON-FIRMATIONS TO THE SHOW.

4. During the hours of judging owners are to be on call, and have their dogs ready to bring into the judging ring promptly in order that judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to have his dog ready to be shown and at the entrance of the judging ring when the steward calls for the class. Owner of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor of any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, it’s owner or handler, when the dog’s presence is needed in a judging ring. It should be understood by every exhibitor and handler that waiting for dogs to be brought into the ring is a courtesy extended to the owner or handler of the dog. There is no rule of these clubs nor the American Kennel Club that requires a judge to wait for an owner or handler to bring his dog into the ring. Show hours 8 AM to 6 PM.

5. Trophies and prizes will be awarded in the judging ring by completion of the breed and the show secretaries office advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. All trophies must be claimed the day of the show. None will be mailed.

6. Exhibitors are admonished to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany the premium list. Rule books may be obtained from the A.K.C., 5580 Centerview Dr., Suite 200, Raleigh, N.C. 27606.

7. The Club, the Show Secretary or the members or employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other causes and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor/owner or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler/agent during the entire time the dog is on the show premises.

8. No grooming tables, pens or exhibitors setups will be allowed in the aisles and all grooming must be done at least 20 ft. away from the judging ring in areas specified by the club.

9. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veteri-narian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Event Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fees for duplicate entry.

10. Only dogs that are eligible to compete to be allowed on the grounds.

11. The Golden State Rottweiler Club, may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the Club or any official thereof.

12. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made.

13. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles.

14. A recording fee of 50 cents per dog and an event service fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the Show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. (American Kennel Club Rule, Chapter 11, Section 2.)

15. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest Confirmation judging at the show.

16. All persons attending this event hereby waive any claim for damages against the Club, or its, members, in the event a motor vehicle has to be entered to rescue a dog from overheating or improperly vented conditions.

17. All vehicles parked in VIP Parking Area without VIP Pass will be ticketed and fined.

18. Parents and/or Guardians are responsible for the actions of their children.

THE GOLDEN STATE ROTTWEILER CLUB, ITS EVENT SECRETARY, THEIR AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, ETC., WILL USE DUE CARE AND DILIGENCE FOR THE WELFARE OF DOGS AND EXHIBITORS, BUT WILL ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE OR INJURY SUSTAINED BY EXHIBITORS, HANDLERS, OR TO ANY OF THEIR DOGS OR PROPERTY PARTICIPATING IN THESE SHOWS, AND FURTHER ASSUMES NO RE-SPONSIBILITY FOR INJURY TO CHILDREN AT THIS SHOW.

PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR OWN DOGS

Exhibitors that don’t pick up after their dogs at the hotels or show grounds

will be subject to disciplinary action by the Bench Show Committee.

DAY OF SHOW PARKING - Day of show parking will be provided at CSULB. Day of show parking

is $5 per day. The oversized vehicle parking is charged at $5 per space used per day. Motor home parking

fees are listed below and said motor homes will be directed to the overnight parking area as their fees are

required to be paid in advance (see below).

NOTE: NO GROOMING ALLOWED IN DAY-OF-SHOW PARKING AREA.

PLEASE REFER TO YOUR JUDGING PROGRAM FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

Unloading will be allowed only in the area designated for such.

RESERVED OVERNIGHT PARKING - There are a limited number of spaces available for

overnight parking. All vehicles must be entirely self-contained and operate on their own

power. Overnight parking fees: $65.00 per night. Reservation deadline is Monday, June 1, 2016.
