Primary News A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER What a brilliant start to the new year! I feel so privileged to be working with the
Goldthorpe community. After working in the school for a week, I am absolutely sure that
the ‘sky is the limit’ to what we can achieve together this year!
We will be publishing a newsletter every week to keep you fully informed of everything
that is happening across our Primary School. I hope that you have found the text mes-
sages useful. Please do update your number at the office if you are not receiving these
messages. You can also follow us on twitter to see what we are doing every day. See our
link on the back of the newsletter.
It has been great to meet many of you on the gate and at our Magic Breakfast this week.
Please do come and chat to me on the gate. I welcome feedback, as we all work together
to ensure that our school community is the very best it can be for our children to really
flourish.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend. The weather is forecast to be sunny!
Kind regards,
Mrs. T Swinburne
A MESSAGE FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL Thank you for making us feel so welcome to school. The first two weeks of the Autumn
term have been filled with learning across the school and we have been very excited to
start our new Phonics groups in the younger classes in school. The children have
responded really well to the teaching taking place and we have already seen many
children making rapid progress with their learning. It was fantastic to see so many of you
join us for our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event. We really do hope you found this useful in
knowing more about what your child will be learning this year and how you can support
them at home.
We will be holding a Phonics / Early Reading Coffee Morning for Parents on Tuesday 1st
October at 9.15am. During this time you will find out all about how we teach phonics
and your children to read, you may even get a chance to see some of the phonic groups
in action.
