The University of Rochester has a long history of innovation and partnering with outstanding medical and community organizations like the American Heart Association. The University of Rochester Medical Center American Heart Association Training Center is pleased to continue this tradition by bringing participants the latest information on pediatric resuscitation science based on the scientific conclusions of the International Guidelines 2005 Conference on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

There are also new options for obtaining your PALS card. In addition to the traditional 2-day Provider Course and 1-day Retraining Course, providers can now participate in PALS Online. This option offers flexibility for busy professionals by presenting the full Provider Course through a combination of online learning modules and classroom skills testing and can be used for either Original certification or Retraining. (See page 8 for more details.)

Another new program being launched this year is PALS “On the Road.” PALS can now be offered to staff on-site at their medical office or hospital. For more information about having PALS come to your facility, please contact Melissa Newcomb, ALS Training Coordinator for URMC TC at [email protected] or 585.275.4392.
