  • 1. The title isnt particularly written in very bold colours that stand out, and its sort of hidden behind the floating clouds. However, this is effective as it links in with the title and the plot of the film- the girl is missing- just like the title is being hidden. Its also quite mysterious having it hidden in with clouds, which links in with the mystery thriller genre. However its not completed covered, which could connotate that she is still around. The main image shows a sky during sunset, with the main protagonist, played by Ben Affleck, at the bottom of the poster (fairly small). He looks very isolated and lonely, and singled out (which links to the plot of the film. The newslines that areover him are fractured, this could connoate how hes breaking apart or that the news reports arent quite truthful. The way he is facing, looks as if he is looking away from the girl (in the sky), showing how he is quite nave to her power over him.The overall colour scheme is very grey and dark, which makes it look quite sinister and mysterious. However the colours are all very soft, especially around the protagonist- possibly showing how he is innocent. The calming lake setting at the bottom contrasts with the dark skys at the bottom- possibly showing how everything once was fine and perfect. At the top we have the two top billed actors/actresses. This will be a unique selling point as the actors are quite well known (Ben Affleck). The eyes in the sky (possibly Amys) are very faint, and not very noticeable. This shows how she is looking down on the man, possibly showing how she is more powerful. Its a very mysterious image. The dark surrounding colours could connotation that she isnt particularly innocent also. The use of the newlines at the bottom of the page are effective. They hint towards the basic plot of the story (girl goes missing). It ties in with the rest of the marketing campaign- the website etc.The tagline is quite mysterious also, as it doesnt finish the sentence. It opens up many questions and will draw people to go see the film.
