Email Etiquette
When you type in all CAPITOLS people may think you are yelling at them. They might get the feeling that you are mad at them.
Don’t use all CAPTIOLS
When sending an e-mail you should not use inappropriate language or put people down.
Be Appropriate
When you are typing an e-mail and you are in a hurry, don’t use LOL or U or Plz to abbreviate. If you do that people may think you are being lazy.
Don’t use “Lol”, “U”, or “Plz”
If you send an e-mail you should say thank you if someone did something for you. If you are asking someone to do something for you say please.
Use Please and Thank You
If your e-mail address is [email protected] your associates might think you are young and childish.
Your E-mail Name Should be Appropriate
When composing an e-mail you should not put an emoticon at the end of every sentence.
Don’t Overuse Emoticons
In an e-mail should only include details that are relevant to the subject you are talking about.
Include All Relevant Details
After you compose your e-mail you should proofread your e-mail and check for things that are spelled incorrectly or for any grammatical errors.
Proofread Your E-mails
If you receive an e-mail from someone that is a chain e-mail do not forward it.
Do NOT Forward Chain E-mails
