Certainly, as members of First Baptist Church, many of us participate regularly in giving tithes and offerings to the spiritual needs of people in our own state, in our own country, and in multiple countries around the world through the Margaret Lackey State Missions Offering, the North American Missions Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, and the International Missions Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Some of us also choose to support the work of other missionaries, other mission endeavors, and a variety of Biblical ministry causes in many different locations around the world. An example of such an organization is the SAMARITAN’S PURSE, sponsored by Franklin Graham. I know some of you have participated for many years by giving a shoe-box to a child in a country on the other side of the world - - - all with a desire that a boy or girl or some member of their family would come to know Jesus Christ personally as Savior and Lord. This year, we have such an opportunity once again and I pray you will give careful consideration to participating whole-heartedly in this worthwhile effort. GOOD NEWS! . . . GREAT JOY! “SHARE HIS LOVE”

BAPTIST HYMNAL - #358

“The love of God is broader than earth’s vast expanse, ‘Tis deeper and wider than the sea.

Love reaches out to all to bring abundant life, for God so loved the world His only Son He gave.

Share His love by telling what the Lord has done for you. Share His love by sharing of your faith;

and show the world that Jesus Christ is real to you every moment, every day.

We show the love of God each day we live, reveal Christ’s presence in our lives;

and how the Holy Spirit guides us day by day, for God so loved the world His only Son He gave.

Share His love by telling what the Lord has done for you. Share His love by sharing of your faith;

and show the world that Jesus Christ is real to you every moment, every day.”

As believers, we have a variety of opportunities to be a blessing to others we will never see or know personally here on earth. How to Join Our Church Family

We would love to discuss salvation and/or church membership with you. To speak with one of our ministers about becoming part of our church family, you may choose either of these options on any Sunday morning:

1. You can respond to the invitation at the conclusion of the worship service by walking to the front of the Worship Center; or

2. Immediately following the service, one of our ministers will be available in the Conference Room (Room #202) to talk with you and answer any of your questions.

Requesting membership by baptism: Constanza Cristerna

Discipleship Groups Coming Soon A Discipleship Group is a small group that meets together to pray, read the Bible, and discuss how to live for Jesus. The commitments to be part of a group are:

1. I will meet together with my group each time unless providentially hindered. (The group should meet at least every other week.)

2. I will read 1 chapter of the Bible each day, Monday-Friday. 3. I will make sure that one of the chapters I read is the common

chapter that we will discuss. 4. I will keep a notebook to write down what God is teaching me –

writing down at least one thing each week. 5. I will share during our group. 6. By the end of 2 years, my intention is to leave this group and

start a new group to do the same thing again with 2-4 new people.

If you are willing to make the above commitments and would like to be a part of one of these groups, please contact the church office so we can attempt to place everyone wanting to be part of a group into an appropriate one.

Youth Ministry Position We are now in the process of looking for our next Student Minister. We know that some of our church family may have someone they would like for us to consider. If so, please have them send a resume to the church office so that the Personnel Committee can include them in our considerations.

Selling the Blue Work Truck We were blessed to receive a truck from one of our church members some years ago that Lee was able to use as a work truck around town. However, we no longer have a need to keep the truck. Therefore we are going to sell the truck. We will receive sealed bids until November 20th. If you would like to bid on the truck, place your name and your bid in a sealed envelope. Write "Trustees: Truck Bid" on the front of the envelope and deliver to the church office. If you have questions about the truck and/or would like to examine it, please come by the church office during regular work hours during the week.

I Love You! --Brian
