A Message from Jenny….

I thoroughly enjoyed my farewell afternoon on Thursday

25th

August. The year 1 classes were superb in their hosting of the assembly where I had the opportunity to receive a Report Card on my learning behaviours during my years at GPS, experience the wonderful taiko d r u m m i n g

performance and view some examples of literacy learning linked to Book Week. Simon Graetz spoke kindly of me and

we headed off for a sumptuous afternoon tea.

It was lovely to receive so many appreciative comments from families and hear that my work here has been valued. Thank you to the Social Committee, Deb, Nicole Tamasi, Sacha Mogg, Holly Dixon, Somer (behind the bar) and any others who contributed to

the planning and work that went into the day. It was truly appreciated. Thank you also to staff for attending and your kind words and the work that went into the amazing book that I am enjoying looking at. It has so many individual messages that it is taking some time. I love it! Thank you children for your great messages and the creativity shown in the pages. Thank you families for supporting me and trusting me with your children over the years.

Jenny Wade

Wow, what a send off!

Great Achievements at Goodwood!

Assembly—14N and 15N Congratulations to 14N and 15N Sarah and Maree’s Year 1 classes who lead the farewell assembly for Jenny. The students spoke with confidence and were very proud of the work they shared with us. What a fantastic performance by the Taiko ensemble.

Book Week in the preschool It was wonderful to see so many families joining in with their children during book week.

A Fun Book Week Parade was the highlight of the Primary Schools week…

Great Achievements at Goodwood!

IELC 3’s adventures at the Planetarium Last Thursday, IEL3 visited the Adelaide Planetarium as part of our learning about the Solar System. Students had a fantastic time visiting the planetarium. The presenter Martin was very impressed by the knowledge the students exhibited during the visit. It

seems that stars are still as captivating to today’s technologically savvy kids as they were to our ancestors.

‘We had lots of fun because we learnt lot of new things’ – Polina ‘Martin told us where to look for Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Mercury’ – Lyn ‘The Planetarium was good’ – Nicole ‘We were really excited to visit the Planetarium because we have never been there’ – Ruoyi ‘Going to the Planetarium was a lot of fun’ – Pietro

‘We watched the perfect movie about planets’ – Fariba ‘We learnt what the probes discovered about the planets and sun’ – Hari
