PICK A STATE THAT IS LANDLOCKED. FIND A POINT OF INTEREST AND WRITE THREE FACTS ABOUT IT.
Example: State: Wyoming
Point of interest: Yellowstone National Park
Facts:1. Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot.
2. Established March 1, 1872
3. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful.
FIND THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS. WRITE WHAT STATES THE MOUNTAINS
GO THROUGH.
LOOK AT THE STATES THAT BORDER THE PACIFIC OCEAN. WHAT STATE IS THE MOST CLOUDY ON THEIR BORDER? MAKE A HYPOTHESIS ON WHY THIS STATE HAS THE MOST CLOUDS.
FIND A STATE THAT HAS A DESERT AND DESCRIBE THE TERRAIN.

Desert: Chihuahuan Desert
Rio Grande River goes through the desert, but fairly dry overall.
Shrubland
Covers over 200,000 square miles
FIND A RIVER THAT RUNS NORTH AND EXPLAIN WHY IT BEHAVE THIS WAY.

State: Oregon
River: Deschutes River
Source of the river is at a higher elevation than the mouth of the river.
