An Experiential Exegesis Of
The Inconsistency OF Our Hypocrisy
1. We resent people who refuse to be identified with us
2. We put as much distance as possible between us and others who are not as enlightened
An Experiential Exegesis Of
The Inconsistency OF Our Hypocrisy
3. We end up erasing our identification with the name of Jesus, the person of Christ, and the glory of the gospel through our attitude
Thesis
• If we have the capacity to judge and condemn the behavior of others without recognizing how our own soul is tainted, that will prevent us from giving and others from getting the gospel.
Point 1
• God’s forbearance is supposed to be leading you to repentance, not leading you to indifference.
Revelation 20:6
• Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power
Isaiah 64:6
• But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Point 2
• We are saved by a relationship, not a
ritual.
Definition
• Conscience is God’s law unwritten but implanted in the soul.
Point 3• In God’s measurement
righteousness is determined by what’s inside a man or woman, not what’s outwardly visible in a man or woman.
Point 4
• In determining revival you can’t just look at ceremonies and rituals, you have to look at ministry and fruit.
