The idea for an

event and

campaign in

Gosport was

born

CRED Jewellery In Chichester

celebrated the 20th Birthday of their

pioneering jewellery brand

Schools Donna visited schools, taking a

Fairtrade Football to promote

Fairtrade sports balls and a

film. “Playing Fair: the story of

Fairtrade footballs”, explains

about how they are made,

without using child labour. It

offers a good way to introduce

Fairtrade to school children.

FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT: Town Hall

These posters were displayed in the Town Hall during the Fortnight, along side a giant “Breaks and Ladders” board inviting people to play.

and encouraged

adults and children to

have a go.

We also made them

available to schools.

We made new information posters to promote donated

products suitable for Fairtrade Breaks which we featured in

tastings at the event.

These add to our stock of resources.

Fairtrade Fortnight and schools

GFA made a short Powerpoint, for use in assemblies etc., about

the exploitation of child labour and how Fairtrade can stop that

and offer producers’ families a better life.

retired as Treasurer

due to poor health,

having done a great

job for several years.

Our new Chair is Mark Smith, retired teacher

from Brune Park School. He’s been involved

with the Group since it started (seen above,

in 2007, handing out Fairtrade bananas).
