ENROLMENTS 2020

Enrolments for next year are now due.

If you have a child starting school next year or know of

anyone, please pick up an enrolment pack from the

office.

CONGRATULATIONS

We were very excited to be part of the Goulburn

Community of Public Schools concert last Tuesday

night. The choir, junior dance and senior dance, along

with our instrumental ensemble rocked the Goulburn

Workers Club. Such enthusiasm and passion for

performing. Well done to the performers and their

teachers who gave up so much time to coach those

polished performances.

VOTE FOR GOULBURN WEST!

Firstly, thanks to Ms Garbutt, our Learning and Support Teacher, we have been shortlisted for a My

Community Grant to create a musical play garden between the K-2 COLA and the classrooms. This is a

quiet space, and as such, an ideal place for children to play who don’t always enjoy the busy

playground. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO VOTE FOR US!

Please follow the steps below and vote for our school to win this awesome opportunity!

1. Sign into your Service NSW account

2. Go to your 'Dashboard' and look at 'Services'

3. Click on 'My Community Project'. You will need your Medicare number as ID.

4. Enter your electorate area as 'Goulburn' and follow the prompts.

5. Vote #1 for 'Share our space musical garden' (you will be asked to select between 3-5 projects, please

put 'Share our space musical garden' first). May we suggest you put The Crescent School with their

Sensory space at Number #2?

Many thanks for 5 minutes of your time that could result in years of enjoyment for your children here at

West!!!

BOOK WEEK IS COMING!

We will celebrate Book Week on Thursday, August 29th with two performances, a book fair and our

much-loved book character parade.

This year, the parade will take place at 10.45am and parents are invited to stay afterwards to browse

and buy from the Book Fair and share a picnic lunch with their child/ren.

Notes have gone home regarding the performance.

The Premier’s Reading Challenge finishes in less than a month! Infants students will have their records

updated and completed at school, whilst Primary students are expected to complete theirs at home.

The Stage 2 teachers have been assisting their classes in attempting the challenge, but the students will

need to obtain a record of what they have already read from their teachers in order to complete it. The

expectation is that Infants students will read 30 books and Primary students will read 20.

Reading Tip:

Get comfortable! – When sharing a book with your child, snuggle up somewhere warm and cosy,

whether it’s in bed, on a beanbag or on the sofa. Make sure your child has somewhere comfy to read

on their own too.
