Gourmet Visit Rreport As we know that gourmet ranks first in bakery production of Pakistan. Gourmet is the largest food retail chain of Pakistan. It is the number one brand in the market so due to its quality products and valuable services. What I Learnt From One Day Visit: I learnt about the opening process, 4 people can open the store. Branch manager do the team meeting before opening. Branch manager allocate the racks to the workers. Workers check the stock, and do the first in first out. In the evening they give the handover to the evening shift with inventory report. Evening manager check the inventory report.

What I Learnt from Area Sales Manger Area sales manager check the outlook of the store. Greet with workers and branch manager. Ask about the problems and querys regarding work and stock. ASM call to the other units to ask about the available stock. ASM adhere all the workers and try to solve their problems. ASM taught me about closing procedures and about check and balance. He asked about sales. And did a brief meeting with branch managers. ASM told me about all units of Gourmet Bakers.

Analysis and recommendations First of all the company should concentrate on offering incentives and benefits to its old employees who are serving the company for more than one year. they should be given family benefits and compensation .by doing this the company could reduce its turnover rate. Because when the employees are satisfied they can serve the customers more efficiently and they are also committed to the job and company. And secondly they should reduce the employee work hours.10 hrs job is a long period and the employee gets bored and loose interest in the sales .Therefore it should be 8 hours .

The employees of the company should be aware of the marketing plans of the company; they should know that how much profit the company is earning and what place they owe in the market. The company has no system of motivating its employees. So that, they could work with more interest. The company is not planning for the loyalty of its customers. They should give loyalty cards to its regular customers. in this way the customers sincerity with the company will grow. The Parking area of the Gourmet bakers should be enhanced if their customers face problems in parking . The company should increase the quality of the new products. There should be a hygienic control system in the branches as well, in my visit I saw there was flies in the racks, I saw the biscuits trays were on the floor I saw the water bottles on the floor, these things and make the food contamination. I saw the workers they were not well trimmed, they did not clip their nails. They was no any smile on the faces of manger and workers. There should be a customer greeting as well as they are keep silent in front of the customers.
