1. Representative Democracy:

People elect representatives to create laws

Ex: United States

2. Monarchy

A ruling family headed by a king, queen, sultan, or emperor holds power

Ex: Saudi Arabia

3. Oligarchy

A small group of people holds power

Wealth, military strength

4. Dictatorship

One individual holds complete power

5. Communism:

All political power and control of the economy is held by the government

Ex: Cuba
