MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE INSTITUTE:

New Initiative Taken (1) First IMC in the country as a pilot project w.e.f. 25th November 1998. (2) First ISO: 9001- 2008 certified Govt. ITI. In the country w.e.f. 10th January 2005. (3) First Govt. ITI in the country to start self-financing unit of most demanded trade under IMC w.e.f. August 2003 session. (4) First in Himachal Pradesh to run the classes in ITI. In three shifts for maximum utilization of machinery & equipment’s w.e.f. August

2008 session. Morning & evening shift classes are under IMC. (5) IT lab was established under IMC in year 2008 and computer education was made compulsory for all the Trainees (IT Literacy

subject was not even introduced in the syllabus at that time). (6) Linkage of day to day activities of ITI with social media Facebook. (7) Very informative website having data of passed out trainees for the last 17 year for better placements. (8) Alumni network for upgradation of Govt. ITI. Solan. (9) Running Hospitality sector courses funded by tourism department (sanctioned budget = Rs. 200 lacs for establishment of new

workshop). (10) Mou of Govt. ITI. Solan & Mahindra & Mahindra for Upgradation of mechanic motor vehicle & electrician trade w.e.f. 9th August

2011. (11) Establishment of “ACC Construction knowledge centre in” Govt. ITI. Solan on 27.9.2013 for the benefit of trainees of Draughts Man

(Civil), Plumber & Carpenter Trade. (12) Mou of Govt. ITI Solan. & Maruti Suzuki India LTD., Gurgaon for Upgradation of ITI w.e.f. 15th July 2014. (13) Installation of 5KVA solar power plant in the ITI campus funded by HIMURJA Department. (14) Maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment’s by experts from Industries. (15) Presentation of paper on IMC during national & State level seminars by Principals of ITI. (16) Four tier induction training programme for newly admitted trainees.

Innovation In Teaching: 1. Air conditioned smart class room with all digital equipment facilities such as LCD projector, Digital visualizer, interactive board etc. 2. BISAG satellite training for soft skills by Maruti Suzuki India LTD. 3. Faculty training in: NAYI DISHA – Level –I, II & III by Maruti Suzuki India LTD. 4. Faculty Training in Industries for learning new Technologies during in – Plant Training of the trainees in the Industries. 5. Observer from Industries for Examination supervision of theory as well as practical.

6. Sending the trainees of Govt. ITI. Solan for in – Plant Industrial training in Industries located in solan , parwanoo, nalagarh, baddi and Barotiwala Industrial areas.

Setting Up System & Process 1. Quality management system: ISO – 9001-2008 Certified institution. 2. 10- point MIS. System formulated by IMC w.e.f. April 2000 MIS -1: Finance, MIS -2: student performance, MIS. 3. Industrial training , MIS -4 : Instructors deputation , MIS-5 : Industry Expert involvement , MIS – 6: Faculty status MIS – 7 : campus

Interview , MIS – 8 : Internal revenue generation, MIS – 9: utilization of IMC funds , MIS – 10 : Industrial tours / visits for improvements in the monitoring , evaluation and reporting system in ITI.

Initiative For Revenue Generation: 1. Till December 2015 Rs. 11.52 Crore has in generated as internal revenue after constitution of IMC w.e.f. July 1999. At present 2.98 crore

is net saving in the IMC head under different schemes. 2. Internal revenue generation through different method such as : (I) Running additional unit of popular trades in 2nd and 3rd shift under self-financing scheme under IMC. (II) By taking job order / work order from industries / other establishments by machinist, Electronics, Electricians, welder , carpenter,

upholstery, plumber etc. trades (III) Renting out the multipurpose hall. (IV) Revenue generation through in – plant training – stipend sharing furniture making (V) Providing services to general public by live work shop by basic cosmetology trade in exhibitions / fairs (VI) Training in short term need based courses as per requirements of industries (VII) Providing training to the candidate sponsored by other departments such as IPH, SC / ST Corporation , Municipal committee, mid

Himalaya , star scheme (VIII) REBTPC ( Rural engg. Based training programme by DIC). (IX) Running hospitality sector course funded by tourism department (sanctioned budget = RS. 2.00 crore for establishment of new

workshop). (X) A- Class electrical contractor license by H.P. state electrical inspectorate.

(XI) Driving school approved by state transport authorities (XII) Running MES courses under SDIS scheme. (XIII) Donation of machinery & equipment’s by Industries.

Placements: 1. Well-equipped training & placement cell under the supervision of group instructor – cum- training & placement officer. Data of past out

candidate wef. 1999 is available in the Institute website www.iti.solan.org. 2. Linkage with 204 reputed Industries in the country for placement of trainees. 3. 100% placement rate of all the engg. Trades. 4. Campus interview by reputed industries located in the state and out if state for better placement of passed out trainees. 5. International campus interview was conducted by m/s Altajir glass industries, Dubai, Aujan industries, Dubai & Ashoka Leyland, Dubai.

Extracurricular activities for over all development to trainees & facility available: 1. Every trainee will give speech in the morning assembly as per annual calendar for improvement of communication skill. 2. N.C.C. wing for both boys & girls. 3. Extracurricular activities like painting competition, debates, sports, seminars and cultural activities. 4. Trainees are regular blood donor to the needy patients in the Govt. Hospital. 5. Well-equipped dispensary in the institution for first aid under the super vision of an experienced pharmacist. 6. Well-equipped library having adequate number of technical books, journals, magazines and newspaper.

Shooting of documentary film in Govt. ITI .Solan by industry partner Maruti Suzuki India LTD. On working of ITI. 12. Industrial visits of all final year trainees sponsored by our Industry partner Maruti Suzuki India LTD., Gurgaon. 13. Donation of engines, Trade related posters, first aid kits etc. 14. One day interview skill training for all the final year trainees. 15. Maruti dealer training programming for MMV trade trainees. 16. Repair & maintenance of machinery & equipment’s.

AWARDS & RECOGNITION OF GOVT I.T.I. SOLAN (HP) Received 4 national Awards “Education Excellence Awards” in the year 2012 at IIT Delhi. Certificated of merit for best ITI in country in the year 2009 and 2012 by DGE&T., Govt. of India New Delhi. Sh. Janoo SArora, Trainee of draughtsman trade stood first in the country in national skill competition in year 2009. Sh. Sanjeev kumar , Trainee of electrician trade stood first in the country in national skill competition in the year 2012 Received to national awards for “best practices” and “Emerging leadership “in 2015 from Maruti Suzuki India LTD. , Gurgaon.

Computer lab

Govt. ITI Solan has one IT Lab equipped with machines of latest configurations. All systems are on LAN with fast internet access. We had also Wi-Fi

facility in our campus. We are using HP , computers with latest configuration and high storage capacity. We have a good numbers of licensed system

as well as application software. The computer lab offers printing and scanning facilities to the students. The students can access the machines for

sufficient number of hours. Students could avail latest technologies so that they can face the challenges globally.
